Electra Group Project in Santa Vitória do Palmar Focuses on Job Creation and Clean Energy, with the Creation of Up to 800 Direct Jobs During the Construction Phase.
An investment of R$ 1 billion promises to transform the energy and economic landscape of the far south of Brazil. The Electra Group announced, in July 2025, the construction of the Electra Ventos do Sul Wind Complex, a 121.8 MW project in the municipality of Santa Vitória do Palmar (RS). The initiative not only reinforces the country’s position at the forefront of renewable energy but also emerges as a driver for job creation in the region.
With the start of construction scheduled for August 2025, the project is a bet on the high quality of the winds in Rio Grande do Sul and the need to diversify the national energy matrix. For the local community, the announcement represents a wave of optimism, promising hundreds of new job openings and a significant boost for the economy of a region seeking to recover after recent climatic events.
The Electra Ventos do Sul Project in Details

The new complex will be installed over an area of more than 2,200 hectares and will consist of five interconnected wind farms. Energy will be produced by 20 state-of-the-art wind turbines, capable of supplying power to about 200 thousand households.

231 turbines of 260 meters at 160 km from the coast, monopiles weighing as much as nine blue whales embedded in the North Sea, and a crane ship taller than the Eiffel Tower: Hornsea 3 will be the largest offshore wind farm on the planet by 2027, and its first components have already arrived in England.

Led by Electra Group, a Paraná-based company with a strong presence in renewable energies, the project has already obtained all the necessary environmental licenses from Fepam (State Foundation for Environmental Protection) and grants from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), with commercial operation expected to begin in early 2028.
The Impact on Job Creation and the Local Economy
The main socioeconomic impact of the project will be job creation. The expectation is that the construction phase, which will extend from August 2025 to 2027, will create between 500 and 800 direct jobs, with priority given to hiring local labor.
After completion, the complex will require between 50 and 100 permanent professionals for operations and maintenance. In addition to direct jobs, the investment of R$ 1 billion is expected to stimulate the entire service chain in the region, from hospitality and food to logistics and commerce, while increasing tax revenues for the municipality.
An Impulse for Renewable Energy in Brazil
The Electra Ventos do Sul Wind Complex contributes to consolidating Brazil as a powerhouse in clean energy. Rio Grande do Sul is one of the states with the highest wind potential in the country, and projects like this are crucial for ensuring the security and stability of the National Interconnected System (SIN).
By investing in a source of energy that does not emit greenhouse gases, the initiative also reinforces the country’s commitment to sustainability and the goals of the Paris Agreement, proving that it is possible to align economic growth, job creation, and environmental protection.
And what do you think of projects like this? Do you believe that investment in wind energy is the best way for job creation and for Brazil’s energy future? Leave your opinion in the comments!
