BRINC launched the Guardian in the United States with up to 62 minutes of flight to speed up services, reduce breaks, and expand emergency response.

BRINC introduced the Guardian as a new drone aimed at emergency response in the United States. The equipment features Starlink connectivity, greater operational range, and an automated base to keep the device ready for new missions in just a few minutes.

In practice, the proposal is to reduce one of the biggest barriers to this type of operation: the downtime between calls. This way, emergency teams can gain agility and receive aerial support more frequently, even in areas without cellular coverage.

System bets on continuous flight and faster response

The Guardian is part of a larger set that includes the Guardian Station, a robotic base designed to automate the battery swapping and relaunching of the drone. The idea is to cut the interval that usually occurs after each mission.

Instead of waiting for long charging cycles, the system prepares the equipment again in just a few minutes. This increases the drone’s availability and opens up space for nearly continuous operations throughout the day.

Range of 8 miles expands service area

With up to 62 minutes in the air and a range of 8 miles, the Guardian is designed to reduce breaks and speed up emergency responses

The new model can respond to incidents up to 8 miles away, which significantly expands coverage compared to many systems currently in use. This gain allows for reaching further without relying on immediate ground transportation.

The drone also delivers up to 62 minutes of flight and has an IP55 certification, aimed at resistance to water and dust. This set reinforces its use in challenging scenarios and prolonged emergency situations.

Robotic base reduces breaks and can carry relief items

The Guardian Station was designed to keep operations active with fewer interruptions. In addition to automatic battery swapping, the structure allows for preparing the drone with specific items for each service before dispatch.

Examples include defibrillators, flotation devices, and Narcan. This can provide support in critical incidents and deliver important resources even before rescue teams arrive.

According to BRINC, a Seattle-based company specializing in drones for public safety, the Guardian is the first public safety drone to integrate Starlink. The satellite connection was incorporated to maintain stable communication even when the cellular network is unavailable.

This point is crucial in remote areas or regions affected by disasters. In these scenarios, the drone can continue transmitting data and images when traditional infrastructure can no longer support the operation.

4K camera with 640 times zoom strengthens monitoring

The imaging system of the Guardian includes a 4K camera with a total zoom of 640 times, capable of capturing clear images from over 300 meters away. This enhances scene reading and aids in decision-making during response.

The set also includes high-definition thermal cameras with zoom, a 1000 lumens focus, a laser rangefinder, and speakers. These features improve visibility, facilitate ground communication, and enhance operational control.

Integration with Motorola brings drone closer to command centers

BRINC also connected the Guardian to the workflows already used by public safety agencies through a partnership with Motorola Solutions. The integration brings drone operations into the CommandCentral Aware system.

As a result, operators can deploy the equipment directly from command centers. The platform also uses artificial intelligence to identify keywords in 911 calls and assist in the decision to dispatch the drone.

Production in the United States doubles capacity in Seattle

The manufacturer announced that the Guardian will be produced in the United States with the support of a new facility in Seattle. The unit was created to double production capacity and support the system’s expansion.

The strategy also strengthens control over the supply chain and keeps manufacturing in the American market. This can accelerate deliveries and strengthen the equipment supply for emergency agencies.

The Guardian arrives with a clear focus on reducing breaks, expanding coverage, and keeping operations active even in scenarios with weakened infrastructure. The most direct impact appears in response speed and early support in critical calls.

By combining autonomy, satellite connectivity, advanced sensors, and a robotic base, the new system repositions the use of drones in public safety. It is a change that pressures the sector and alters the strategic landscape.
