The Update of Honda’s Compact SUV Features a Revamped Design, Efficiency Improvements, and a Robust Tech Package, Enhancing the Brand’s Competitiveness in the Segment while Anticipating Trends of the New WR-V. Check Out All the Launch Details.

The Honda HR-V 2026 is already available in Brazilian dealerships with a series of updates aimed at elevating the compact SUV’s standards in design, efficiency, and technology.

The launch occurs at a strategic moment for the Japanese brand, as the arrival of the brand-new WR-V — a new sports utility positioned between the City line and the HR-V — is scheduled for the second half of 2025.

Honda’s goal with the HR-V 2026 is to ensure competitiveness in the segment and offer clear differences between its lines of sports utility vehicles.

With updated prices ranging from R$ 163,200 to R$ 209,900, the new Honda HR-V 2026 maintains the same range of versions, divided between options with a 1.5 naturally aspirated engine (in the EX and EXL configurations) and a 1.5 turbo engine (in the Advance and Touring versions).

Among the main changes are enhancements in external design, adjustments focused on user experience inside the vehicle, and an expanded equipment package for the entry-level versions.

Revamped Look of the Honda HR-V 2026

In terms of design, the HR-V 2026 adopts a new front grille, now squarer, with a glossy black finish across all versions.

The differentiation remains between configurations with a turbo engine, which feature a trapezoidal grille, and the naturally aspirated ones, which have horizontal slats.

The front bumper has been slightly redesigned, increasing the length of models equipped with the aspirated engine by 16 mm.

For those observing the turbo versions, the sportier appeal remains, with robust parts and larger dimensions.

At the top, the headlights remain the same, but the Touring version now incorporates dynamic LED turn signals, while retaining LED fog lights.

The front ends of the turbo versions display a more pronounced visual identity, while the Advance and Touring models now feature 18-inch wheels, whereas the EX and EXL configurations, equipped with the aspirated engine, have 17-inch wheels with new finishes.

LED Taillights and Updated Rear Details

At the rear, the changes are concentrated on the taillights.

The Touring configuration debuts fully LED taillights, with slats composing the new visual signature, while the other versions adopt smoked taillights, a feature previously restricted to the top-of-the-line version.

Another visual detail remains in the Advance and Touring versions: the two exhaust outlets, each positioned at an end of the rear bumper, reinforcing the sporty look.

The Interior of the New HR-V Offers Practicality and Technology

The interior of the Honda HR-V 2026 has also been redesigned to enhance the user experience, responding to key customer demands.

In the center console, the news is a storage shelf and easier access to the wireless phone charger.

Another important change is the replacement of the traditional USB port with a USB-C port for fast charging of devices, while the USB-A input remains for data transfer.

The 8-inch multimedia center has received a software update, now with superior resolution and a thinner screen.

The physical buttons have been maintained both in the central console and in the two-zone air conditioning control, available from the EXL version.

The instrument panel, in turn, continues with a 7-inch digital display, providing easy visibility of the main information to the driver.

More Efficient Turbo Engine and Performance of the HR-V 2026

In the mechanical assembly, the HR-V 2026 retains the already known engines: a 1.5 naturally aspirated engine in the EX and EXL versions, and a 1.5 turbo engine in the Advance and Touring versions.

Both engines feature a CVT automatic transmission that simulates seven gears and offers paddles behind the steering wheel for manual shifts.

The 1.5 turbo engine has undergone adjustments to meet the new regulations of the Vehicle Emission Control Program (Proconve PL8), becoming more efficient without losing power or torque.

According to Honda’s official data, the 1.5 naturally aspirated engine develops 126 horsepower and torque of up to 15.8 kgfm.

The 1.5 turbo engine delivers 177 horsepower and 24.5 kgfm of torque.

As for fuel consumption, the urban and highway averages are as follows:

  • 1.5 naturally aspirated: 12.5 km/l (city, gasoline), 13.9 km/l (highway, gasoline), 8.8 km/l (city, ethanol), and 9.9 km/l (highway, ethanol).
  • 1.5 turbo: 11.5 km/l (city, gasoline), 12.9 km/l (highway, gasoline), 8.1 km/l (city, ethanol), and 9.1 km/l (highway, ethanol).

These results place the new HR-V among the most efficient models in the segment, especially in the turbo engine versions, aligning performance with low fuel consumption.
