Confirmed for 2025: New Honda WR-V Will Be Made in Brazil, Larger and with a 1.0 Turbo Engine Option and CVT to Compete Among Compact SUVs.
Honda officially confirms: the new generation of the WR-V is arriving in Brazil. The launch of the compact SUV will take place in 2025. The new Honda WR-V has utilized a new platform and has grown significantly in size.
It will be the new entry-level model of the Japanese brand in the country. It will compete with Fiat Pulse, VW Nivus, and Chevrolet Tracker, offering a 1.5 naturally aspirated engine and also an unprecedented 1.0 turbo.
New Honda WR-V to Compete Among Compacts
The model has been registered with the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) since 2022. Now, Honda confirms its official launch in Brazil. The new Honda WR-V is arriving to compete in the hot-selling compact SUV segment.

The brand aims to steal customers from models like VW T-Cross, Fiat Pulse, and Chevrolet Tracker. It will position itself as Honda’s most affordable SUV option, below the current City and HR-V.
Revamped Design and Surprising Space: Almost an HR-V?

The design of the new Honda WR-V is modern and robust. The front features a grille with chrome elements and full LED headlights. On the sides, notable features include wheels of up to 17 inches and the option for a two-tone paint job (roof in a different color).
The rear has taillights with LED position lights and resembles the Honda BR-V (the 7-seater version sold in Asia). The dimensions are generous for an entry-level compact: 4.32 meters in length (just 1 cm shorter than the HR-V) and a good wheelbase of 2.65 meters. The trunk has a capacity of 381 liters.
Engine Options: The Known 1.5 Naturally Aspirated and the Anticipated 1.0 Turbo Flex with CVT
The new Honda WR-V will have two engine options in Brazil. The entry-level versions will use the known 1.5 naturally aspirated engine with direct injection, already present in the City and basic versions of the HR-V. This engine delivers 126 horsepower and 15.8 kgfm of torque (with ethanol).
The big news will be the introduction of a 1.0 turbo three-cylinder engine. It will be flex, and the expectation is that it will deliver around 130 horsepower and 20 kgfm of torque. Both engine options will be coupled exclusively to a CVT automatic transmission, which simulates up to seven gears.
Simple Finish, Good Equipment, and Safety
The interior of the new Honda WR-V will have a simpler look than its larger siblings, the City and HR-V. The finish will be predominantly hard plastic, but good build quality is expected. The interior space comfortably accommodates five occupants, thanks to the good wheelbase. Among the features, there are forecasts for digital single-zone air conditioning, electrically folding mirrors, a keyless entry system with remote start, and wireless cellphone charging. The multimedia system will have an 8-inch screen with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as native GPS and a rearview camera.
For safety, the SUV will come with 6 airbags, traction and stability controls, and ABS brakes (disc in the front, drum in the back) as standard. The top-line versions (probably RS and Touring) will have complication alerts, autonomous braking, and Honda’s LaneWatch system (a camera in the right mirror for blind spots).
Production in Brazil and Prices: When Does the New Honda WR-V Arrive?
The new Honda WR-V 2026 (despite the launch being in 2025) will be manufactured in Brazil. Production will take place at Honda’s factory in the interior of São Paulo (Itirapina). This will allow the car to have competitive prices. The launch is confirmed to take place in the first half of 2025. The estimated prices for the new WR-V will be positioned between R$ 110,000 and R$ 150,000.
Thus, it will not invade the price range of the Honda HR-V, which currently starts at R$ 151,200. It is also expected that the new WR-V will have versions aimed at the PcD audience, with prices in the range of R$ 100,000. The expectation is that the model will achieve quick sales success.
