Chevrolet Groove Will Arrive in Brazil to Open Up Space in the Factory and Reposition the New Mid-Sized Sedan Monza, a Classic Loved by Brazilians and a Sales Leader in the Country

Toyota Yaris Cross and Honda Elevate tremble with the launch of the new Chevrolet Groove Turbo, also known as mini Tracker, which is about to hit the Brazilian market. It will be the bridge between the Chevrolet Onix and the current generation of the Chevrolet Tracker. The Chevrolet Groove is yet another subcompact SUV that will compete with future launches integrating a new positioning in our market.

It is the subcompact SUVs, a kind of hatchbacks with raised suspension, that are becoming a strong trend here.

Competitors of the Chevrolet Groove Tremble!

Just like the Volkswagen Nivus, the Chevrolet Groove will compete with the Hyundai Venue, the future release from Hyundai, and the Japanese Nissan Magnity. These models will be positioned in the same category, below the compact SUVs of their respective brands. Following that, we have the Chevrolet Tracker and the Hyundai Creta, both already established in the market.

Chevrolet Groove Is Part of Chevrolet’s Investments to Become the Darling of Brazilians

The Chevrolet Groove is part of the investments that Chevrolet plans to make in the Brazilian market. These investments started with the new generation of the Onix and Tracker, which are very successful.

The Groove, which is already sold in other markets under this name, is a kind of subcompact SUV. It will be a great option for daily use, offering raised suspension, greater ride comfort, and ease of parking in tight spaces.

Mini Tracker Chevrolet Will Have a Sunroof and More Sophisticated Safety Equipment

The new mini Tracker will be offered in two versions: LT and Premier. The latter will have a sunroof and more sophisticated safety equipment, something that is not common in the compact hatchbacks here in Brazil.

The dimensions of the Groove are 4.22 meters in length, 1.74 meters in width, 1.62 meters in height, and a good wheelbase of 2.55 meters, which should provide ample interior space.

The trunk capacity has not yet been disclosed, but something around 300 liters is expected, which is the average capacity for this category of subcompacts.

New Chevrolet SUV for R$ 60,000 in Brazil? Grove Is Much Cheaper Than Competitors!

It seems that the Groove will be equipped with a 1.0 Turbo engine, the same one that already powers the Chevrolet Tracker in the LT and Premier versions. There is a possibility of also offering an option with a 1.2 Turbo engine, but with reduced power. If prices were converted to our current reality, they would range from 60,000 to 95,000 reais.

The Automotive Market Is Becoming More Focused on SUVs

The automotive market is becoming more focused on SUVs, and some manufacturers are phasing out traditional models to make room for these new launches. An example of this is the Volkswagen Golf, which made way for the Volkswagen T-Cross.

The Chevrolet Groove will also arrive to open up space in the factory and possibly reposition a new mid-sized sedan, which would be the new Chevrolet Monza. This new generation of the Monza, already sold in China, would be a sedan slightly above the Onix, to compete with the more expensive versions of the Volkswagen Virtus and other models.

Now Is the Time to Buy: Prices of Subcompact SUVs Are Getting Higher and Higher!

It is interesting to observe how the prices of subcompact SUVs are getting higher and higher. These models are actually hatchbacks with raised suspension and interior space adjusted to resemble SUVs.

This marketing strategy has proven to be very effective in Brazil, where people have a strong preference for this type of car. However, car enthusiasts, who are more traditionalists, still prefer medium hatchbacks or medium sedans with sportier configurations.

If we consider that these models will start arriving in the Brazilian market in about a year, it is very likely that compact hatchbacks will become even more expensive. With the arrival of the Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnity, and the Chevrolet Groove itself, it is quite possible that these models will cost over 100,000 reais.
