New Chevrolet SUV Features 1.0 Turbo 3-Cylinder Engine, The Same As The Tracker And Onix, That Runs On Gasoline, But Will Be Flex In Brazil. This Engine Generates Up To 115 Horsepower!
New Onix SUV? It Seems So! General Motors recently announced investments in Brazil for the development of new flex hybrid technologies and even new cars. The automaker has been increasingly standing out in the country with its successful models, like the new Montana, the new Chevrolet Tracker, and the duo Onix. And now the brand is ready to launch another compact SUV of the Onix, the Groove 2.0.
This new model, which is also a Chinese project like much of Chevrolet’s current line in Brazil, has been very successful in China and other Latin American countries. The Groove uses the same platform as the new Ônix and Onix Plus, and has many qualities, as well as some flaws of the duo.
Chevrolet Groove Is A Compact Car That Sits Below A Tracker SUV
Like other Chevrolet models, such as the Nervos and Pulse, the Groove is a compact car that sits below an already existing compact SUV, which in this case is the Tracker. This strategy is similar to the Nervos in relation to the T-Cross and the WR-V in relation to the HR-V. The Groove measures 4 meters and 22 cm in length, about 10 cm less than the Tracker. It has a 2.55 meter wheelbase, 1.74 m in width, 1.61 m in height, and weighs up to 1218 kg. In addition, it offers a trunk with a capacity of 417 liters, which is good for its size.

The 2026 electric Vitara arrives in Brazil and proves that Suzuki is not leaving: 4×4 traction, 184 hp, 61 kWh LFP battery, 293 km range, R$ 259,000, and a trunk capacity of 224 L.

Hyundai has unveiled the Boulder, a square SUV with a body-on-frame design, 37-inch mud tires, and carriage-style doors that seems to be made to take on the Ford Bronco and the Scout Traveller in the United States.

The Toyota Hilux is R$ 75.5 thousand cheaper and bets on the 2.8 turbodiesel engine with up to 204 hp and 50.9 kgfm to catch up with the VW Saveiro, which leads with 4,472 sales.

The new Renault Koleos has a screen exclusively for the passenger that is invisible to the driver, heated rear seats, and 29 assistance systems, but its Chinese competitors cost R$ 40,000 less and deliver more power.
Despite being smaller than the Chevrolet Tracker, the Groove manages to look better in front. It features a grille with chrome finishing, gray accents on the bumper, and divided optical set with LED lights above and the others at bumper height. On the sides, it has a floating roof, A and B pillars painted black, side moldings and window trims in chrome. The wheels are 16 inches with diamond finishing. At the rear, the Groove features an integrated spoiler, a bumper with gray accents, and tail lights with a somewhat transparent look.
New Onix SUV With 1.5 Naturally Aspirated Engine That Runs Only On Gasoline Generates 110 Horsepower
The Chevrolet Groove may come with two engine options. For the base versions, a 1.5 naturally aspirated engine that runs only on gasoline is used. This setup generates 110 horsepower and 15 kg of torque, and is paired with a six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. The performance is okay, not impressive, but the fuel consumption averages are good.
For the more expensive configurations, we have the well-known 1.0 turbo 3-cylinder engine, the same as the Chevrolet Tracker and Onix, that runs on gasoline but will come as Flex in Brazil. This engine generates up to 115 horsepower and 16 kg of torque, and is coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. In this case, performance is very good, and fuel consumption averages remain excellent.
Groove Features On-Board Wi-Fi And Complete Multimedia With Screen, Reverse Camera, Integrated GPS And Wireless Connectivity For Apple CarPlay And Android Auto
Like abroad, the Chevrolet Groove also stands out in the interior. The style is beautiful and modern, and the finishing is basically the same as the Chevrolets available in Brazil, with many hard plastics. The interior comfortably accommodates 4 adults and a child. In terms of equipment, the Groove is quite complete, featuring electrically folding side mirrors, keyless entry, multifunction steering wheel, monochromatic on-board computer, three fast-charging USB ports, single-zone digital air conditioning, and a generous panoramic sunroof. The multimedia system is complete, with a screen, reverse camera, integrated GPS, and wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, the Groove has on-board Wi-Fi, as in almost all Chevrolets that come with MyLink.
Groove Safety Follows The Same Line As Its Platform Cousins Sold In Brazil, Like The Onix And Tracker, Which Are Also Safe Vehicles
In terms of safety, the Chevrolet Groove follows the same line as its platform cousins sold in Brazil, like the Onix and Tracker, which are also safe vehicles. It has good results in collision tests from Global NCAP, both for adults and for children. Among the safety items, standout features are traction and stability controls, four airbags, disc brakes with ABS on all four wheels, headrests and three-point seatbelts for all occupants, ISOFIX, and blind spot alert. However, the Groove lacks more sophisticated safety features, such as collision alert with autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control, which are already present in entry-level versions of its competitors, like the new Volkswagen Nivus.
New Onix SUV In Brazil Is The Terror Of Pulse, Polo, And Compass: Chevrolet Groove Is The Cheapest SUV Of All!
The new Chevrolet Groove is already available in countries close to Brazil, such as Argentina, Mexico, and Peru, and even in Chile. In Brazil, the Groove is expected to be priced between R$ 110,000 and R$ 130,000, targeting directly at the Fiat Pulse, which starts at R$ 100,990 for the base version and can reach R$ 131,990 for the top-of-the-line version. Comparatively, the Pulse is not a model of this category, but rather a niche sports car that competes with the Polo GTS and features a turbo engine with 185 horsepower from the Jeep Compass, costing around R$ 150,000.
With Chevrolet’s Success In Brazil, Groove Promises To Conquer Brazilian Consumers Seeking A Compact SUV!
