Presented During the Lei Jun Annual Speech, the New Xiaomi 17 Pro Bets on Minimalist Design, Top Performance, and Partnership with Leica to Compete Directly with the High-End Models of Samsung and Apple.
The new Xiaomi 17 Pro was launched in September 2025, in Beijing, and symbolizes the effort of the Chinese brand to refine the concept of premium smartphone. Equipped with two AMOLED displays, 50 MP Leica cameras, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, and 6,300 mAh battery with 100 W charging, the model arrives to compete with Galaxy S25 and iPhone 17 Pro, combining cutting-edge technology and minimalist design.
With a body made of aluminum and frosted glass, straight edges, and premium finish, the Xiaomi 17 Pro reinforces the company’s pursuit of a more sophisticated and functional design. According to the Tech Tudo portal, the highlight is on the secondary panel on the back, designed to display notifications, take selfies with the main camera, and interact with quick widgets—a clear strategy to differentiate itself in the competitive luxury smartphone market.
Design and Innovation: A Phone with Two Displays

The new Xiaomi 17 Pro adopts a compact format and frosted finish, departing from the trend of large smartphones. The polished aluminum body and Dragon Crystal glass—a material developed by Xiaomi—promises superior resistance to drops and scratches.

The design features straight edges and a vertical camera module, resembling the layout used in the iPhone 17 Pro.
The standout feature is the 2.7-inch AMOLED rear display, with brightness of up to 3,500 nits and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, allowing users to view notifications, control music, access weather forecasts, and even take selfies with the main cameras.
The device also has IP68 certification, ensuring resistance to water and dust, and comes in four colors: black, white, green, and purple—all with metal edges and a premium finish.
Main Display: Extreme Brightness and Color Accuracy

The main display of the Xiaomi 17 Pro is a 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution (1,220 x 2,656 px), a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a maximum brightness of 3,500 nits—one of the highest in its class.
With support for HDR10+, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision, the display offers high contrast and accurate color reproduction, making it ideal for videos and gaming.
The 12-bit depth and True Color 3.0 standard ensure precise factory calibration, displaying up to 68 billion colors.
The ultrasonic fingerprint reader under the display allows for fast unlocking even with a wet finger, and the Dragon Crystal glass enhances durability against scratches and impacts.
Leica Cameras: Professional Photography in Your Pocket
The new Xiaomi 17 Pro maintains its partnership with Leica, bringing three 50 MP rear cameras with next-gen sensors and optical stabilization (OIS).
The main camera uses the Light Fusion 950L sensor, with an aperture of f/1.7 and a size of 1/1.28”, capturing more light and improving performance in dark environments.
The set also includes a periscope telephoto with 5x optical zoom and variable focus, as well as a 102° ultrawide for wide landscapes.
On the front, the 50 MP sensor with 4K recording at 60 fps maintains the sharpness and color accuracy standard of the rear lenses.
The model records videos in 8K at 30 fps and 4K at up to 120 fps, with support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, aimed at those seeking cinematic results.
Performance and Efficiency: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
In terms of performance, the Xiaomi 17 Pro features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 3-nanometer chip from Qualcomm with a maximum frequency of 4.6 GHz. The processor is paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and UFS 4.1 storage in versions of 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB.
The ring cooling system, with an expanded vapor chamber, keeps performance stable under heavy use.
The integrated AI, HyperCore AI, adjusts energy consumption and processing in real-time, optimizing gaming and recording.
Audio is another highlight: stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Snapdragon Sound, ensuring immersive and clear sound in music and videos.
Battery and Ultra-Fast Charging
With a 6,300 mAh battery, the new Xiaomi 17 Pro delivers up to two days of moderate use and about nine hours of active screen time.
Charging is a differentiator: the 100 W charger takes the device from 0% to 100% in about 19 minutes, according to official data from the brand.
There’s also 50 W wireless charging and 22.5 W reverse charging, allowing the smartphone to be used as a power source for accessories like earbuds or smartwatches.
System and Smart Features
The model comes with Android 16 out of the box, under the new HyperOS 3 interface, which inaugurates the “Human × Car × Home” ecosystem, allowing users to control home and automotive devices directly from the phone.
Among the AI-based features are the AI Portrait Mode, which enhances portraits, and the AI Smart Summary, capable of automatically summarizing texts and messages. For security, the Xiaomi 17 Pro offers a ultrasonic sensor, facial recognition, and end-to-end encryption via the HyperConnect layer.
Price and Availability
The Xiaomi 17 Pro was initially launched in China with a starting price of 4,999 yuan (about R$ 3,820 in direct conversion). The higher versions, with 512 GB and 1 TB of storage, cost more, but maintain the same technical specifications.
There is still no release date for Brazil, and the device will only be available through importation, without official warranty from Xiaomi in the country.
With the new Xiaomi 17 Pro, the Chinese brand bets on dual design, giant battery, and professional photography to compete with Galaxy S25 and iPhone 17 Pro.
