Company Is The Most Traditional National Manufacturer Of Compounds And Micronutrients In Brazil Therefore It Is One Of The Most Benefited From The Increase In Food Prices And The Record In Seed Exports

The company Nutriplant S.A, a pioneer in the development and production of premium micronutrients for improving productivity in agribusiness, celebrates another quarter of good financial results. The company, which has been listed on the B3 Stock Exchange since 2008, announced a total profit of R$ 12.3 million during the months of July, August, and September, a surge of 55% compared to the same period in 2021.

These gains from Nutriplant follow the increase in seed exports and the high value of food. According to the Brazilian Association of Industries of Technology in Plant Nutrition, sales of special fertilizers and micronutrients for the field jumped from R$ 10.1 billion to R$ 16.6 billion in the last two years in Brazil.

Nutriplant’s net revenue reached R$138.4 million in the last quarter, which corresponds to 47% more than the R$ 94.2 million recorded in the same period the previous year. In relation to gross profit, the company reached R$ 21.9 million (49.3% higher than the amount registered between July and September 2021). Meanwhile, the net profit in the third quarter was R$ 6 million, exceeding by 44.5% what was achieved the previous year (R$ 4.2 million) in the period.

Increase In Sales Is Related To Rural Producers’ Investments, Nutriplant Evaluates

Nutriplant evaluates that the growth in sales of special fertilizers and micronutrients is linked to the fact that rural producers are investing more in new technologies, which improves the traditional fertilization process with the addition of micronutrients to the plant capable of increasing productivity by up to 30% in cultivated areas, according to studies from the Chapadão do Sul Foundation (MS).

“When the farmer gets a good price for the harvest, their tendency is to look for ways to increase supply and take advantage of the good moment in the market.”

Ricardo Pansa – CEO and Investor Relations Director of Nutriplant.

According to Pansa, Nutriplant has been investing in improvements in operational efficiency, cost control, reduced dependence on third-party capital, and training for the sales team to expand its distribution channels.

How Micronutrients Are Applied

Special fertilizers help rural producers and manufacturers of these products to increase their productivity and profitability of crops. Nutriplant’s line geared towards soybeans is intended for seed treatment up to the grain filling. In the coffee sector, micronutrients promote vegetative growth in the aerial root part, increasing flowering and grain production. In sugarcane, the products increase sugar accumulation through balanced nutrition for each stage of plant development.

Among the company’s main clients are the Superior School of Agriculture of USP – Esalq, the Foundation for Agricultural Research Support of Mato Grosso – Foundation MT, and the São Paulo State University – Unesp Botucatu, in addition to giants in the agribusiness sector in agricultural retail, fertilizer manufacturers, and diversified industries across all regions of the country.

Majority Of Fertilizers Used Are Still Imported

Brazil imports about 85% of its fertilizer needs. By September, the country had acquired 27.88 million tons of fertilizers from the international market. In 2021, the number was 26.86 million.

Russia was the country that exported the most here, accounting for 23% of purchases. But due to the situation with Ukraine, the Russians have lost ground in supply. Canada increased its share from 11% to 14% in the annual comparison, matching China, from where the largest fertilizer ship in the world recently came. The vessel docked at the port of Santos.
