The Positive Registration of Drivers Is Now Active and Allows Drivers Without Fines in the Last 12 Months to Receive Benefits Such as Discounts on Tolls, Insurance, and Fees, Rewarding Those Who Maintain Good Conduct on the Road
The new Positive Registration of Drivers has been implemented nationwide and brings a direct incentive for responsible driving. The initiative from the National Traffic Department (Senatran) recognizes drivers without fines in the last 12 months, allowing them to receive financial advantages and exclusive benefits in various services.
The system, officially called National Positive Registration of Drivers (RNPC), functions as a database that gathers only drivers with a clean violation history. Participation is voluntary and depends on the authorization of the driver. Each month, the registry is automatically updated to keep the records of good drivers up to date.
How The Positive Registration of Drivers Works
By joining the program, the driver integrates the database maintained by Senatran, which informs partner companies and agencies who have maintained exemplary behavior on the road.

These institutions, in turn, are responsible for offering the benefits.
The registration is free and completely digital.
To participate, just access the Digital Traffic Wallet (CDT) app or the Senatran Services Portal, log in with the Gov.br account, and authorize inclusion in the RNPC.
Those without fines for 12 consecutive months are automatically eligible for the advantages.
What Are the Benefits for Drivers Without Fines
Drivers without fines can be rewarded in various ways, depending on agreements made with companies and state governments. Among the most common benefits are:
Discounts on tolls and parking, offered by highway concessionaires;
Reduction in car insurance costs, since a good driving history reduces the risk of incidents;
Discounts or exemptions on state fees, such as the CNH renewal fees;
Benefits related to IPVA, valid in some states like Amazonas and Rio Grande do Sul;
Special conditions at rental car companies and automotive services, such as vehicle maintenance and cleaning.
The list of benefits is not fixed, as the federal government does not grant direct discounts: they are offered by private companies and public agencies that voluntarily join the program.
Incentive for Safety and Good Conduct on the Roads
The central proposal of the Positive Registration of Drivers is to change the punitive logic of Brazilian traffic, creating a reward system for those who respect the laws.
Just as drivers with infractions are penalized, exemplary drivers now receive institutional and economic recognition.
According to Senatran, the program aims to strengthen the culture of road safety, encouraging respect for the rules and reducing the number of accidents caused by recklessness and speeding.
The idea is to turn good behavior into real advantage, promoting responsibility on the road in a positive way.
How to Know If You Are Entitled to the Benefit
The process is simple: after joining, the driver can check their status directly in the Digital Traffic Wallet app, which displays whether the driver is active in the registration and if they meet the requirement of 12 months without infractions.
If a fine is recorded during the period, the driver is temporarily removed from the registration, being eligible to return after another cycle of 12 months without violations.
The update occurs monthly, ensuring that the program reflects the real and recent history of each participant.
Registration and Expansion of the Program
Although Senatran has not yet released updated data on the number of participants, millions of drivers are estimated to have joined since the implementation began in 2022.
States such as Amazonas, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Rio Grande do Sul have already expanded the program’s reach, creating local versions with additional tax benefits, such as discounts on fees and taxes.
The government’s expectation is that participation will increase as new private and public partnerships are formed, especially with insurance companies, rental agencies, and highway concessionaires, who are interested in valuing lower-risk profiles and good conduct.
The Difference Between the Positive Registration of Drivers and Credit Registration
Despite the similar name, the Positive Registration of Drivers has no relation to credit registration.
While the financial registry compiles information about payment history of debts, the RNPC focuses exclusively on the driver’s conduct on the road.
Additionally, the program is not automatic: the driver needs to authorize their inclusion, preserving control over the sharing of their information.
This conscious adherence is seen as part of the merit of good drivers, reinforcing the voluntary nature of the initiative.
