Imagine A Car So Fast It Outruns Most Commercial Airplanes — And So Rare That It Requires Special Fuel Available In Only Three Places In The World. This Is The Reality Of The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, A Swedish Supercar That Redefines The Limits Of Automotive Engineering.

The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is a masterpiece developed by the Swedish manufacturer Koenigsegg Automotive AB, known for breaking records with futuristic machines. Officially launched in 2020, the Jesko Absolut is an extreme variation of the “standard” Jesko, specifically focused on top speed, with no compromise on cornering or urban use. According to Koenigsegg itself, the Jesko Absolut Is The Fastest Car They’ve Ever Built — and perhaps the fastest the world has ever seen. Currently, the model is also considered the fastest car in the world.

Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut: The Quest For Absolute Speed

The manufacturer’s goal is bold: to exceed 500 km/h. Although the official record has yet to be broken on a public track, wind tunnel data and computer simulations indicate that the Jesko Absolut can surpass this mark under the right conditions.

Unlike the conventional version of the Jesko, which focuses on track use, the Absolut has minimalist aerodynamics: the large rear wing has been removed, and the focus is on reducing drag and optimizing airflow.

Design To Break Through The Barrier Of Limits

The design of the Jesko Absolut is driven by physics. Its fluid, long, and clean lines have a single mission: to minimize aerodynamic drag (drag coefficient). The car’s drag coefficient is just 0.278 Cd, an exceptional number for a vehicle with over 1,600 hp.

The body is made entirely of carbon fiber, and the monocoque is one of the lightest ever produced. The rear is 85 mm longer than that of the conventional Jesko, increasing stability at extreme speeds.

The Engine That Defies Physics

The heart of the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers:

  • 1,280 hp with regular gasoline
  • 1,600 hp with E85 (a mixture of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline)
  • 1,500 Nm of torque, peaking at 5,100 rpm

This engine is paired with an Light Speed Transmission (LST) with 9 gears and multiple clutches, developed in-house. It allows for instantaneous shifts between any gear at any moment, without the need to go through intermediate gears.

The Special Fuel: Why The Jesko Absolut Can Only Be Refueled In Three Places

YouTube Video

To achieve its maximum power, the Jesko Absolut relies on E85, a special fuel made up of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. This type of fuel offers higher octane and better thermal performance, allowing the engine to operate with higher turbo pressure and without knocking.

The problem? This fuel is not widely available worldwide. Currently, Koenigsegg supports refueling in only three strategic locations:

  • Koenigsegg Facility in Ängelholm, Sweden
  • Authorized Test Circuit in Nevada, USA
  • Partner Technical Center in the United Arab Emirates

These locations are equipped with the highest purity E85, necessary to operate the Jesko Absolut in its most extreme mode. Outside of these locations, the car may run on regular gasoline, but its power is reduced.

Fast And Rare Car: How Many Units Exist?

The Koenigsegg Jesko (in all its variations) will have a limited production of only 125 units worldwide. Of these, it is estimated that less than 30 will be the Absolut version. All units have already been ordered by billionaire customers, collectors, and high-performance enthusiasts.

The base price of the model is around US$ 3 million, but with customization, it can easily exceed US$ 5 million.

Estimated Performance: Figures That Defy The Impossible

Although there is still no officially recorded benchmark with certified instruments, the figures for the Jesko Absolut are enough to shock any speed enthusiast:

Parameter Estimated Value
0 to 100 km/h Less than 2.5 seconds
0 to 200 km/h About 5.5 seconds
Theoretical Maximum Speed Over 530 km/h
Total Weight 1,320 kg dry
Power-to-weight Ratio 0.82 kg/hp with E85

In other words: the Jesko Absolut may be the fastest car on the planet.

Embedded Technology: More Than Just Speed

Even being an extreme car, the Jesko Absolut is packed with cutting-edge technology:

  • Digital Display With Dynamic HUD, which remains leveled even during extreme cornering or acceleration
  • Triplex Suspension, with three front and rear dampers to control the car’s pitch
  • Active Steering System, which adjusts the rear axle at high speeds to ensure stability
  • Intelligent Traction Control, adaptable in real-time based on traction sensors and accelerator position

All of this is managed by Koenigsegg’s proprietary electronics, which interact with telemetry systems and allow for internet updates.

A Car For The Roads — But Almost Impossible To Use

Technically, the Jesko Absolut is homologated for public road use in some countries in Europe and the USA. However, the reality is different: it’s almost impossible to drive a car like this outside of a controlled environment.

The reasons are many:

  • Low Angle Of Attack, making it difficult to enter common garages or ramps
  • Intense Noise And Vibration in urban driving
  • Need For Special Fuel for optimal performance
  • Extremely High Costs For Insurance, Maintenance, And Tires

Most owners use the Jesko Absolut only at closed events or private collections.

The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is not just a fast and rare car — it is a statement of technical capability. The Swedish manufacturer, with only 30 years of existence, has proven to the world that it is possible to push the limits with creativity, courage, and an obsession for detail.

With each component designed from scratch, from the transmission to the chassis, the Jesko Absolut is a functional work of art that could easily feature in science or technology museums.

Competitors? Almost None

There are few models that attempt to rival the Jesko Absolut in terms of speed and technology. Some names include:

  • Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, which has already reached 490 km/h in tests
  • Hennessey Venom F5, aiming for 500 km/h
  • SSC Tuatara, which claimed records but faced controversies

Even among these, the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut stands out for its radical technical approach and exclusive focus on maximum speed.

When Only Three Places In The World Can Refuel A Car, You Know You’re Facing Something Unique

The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is not an ordinary car. It is a landmark of automotive engineering, an extreme rarity, a creation designed exclusively to break records — even if that means limiting its usability.

Being so fast that it requires special fuel — and can only be refueled in three places on the planet — is a privilege reserved for very few vehicles in history.

More than power or speed, the Jesko Absolut represents the future of the automobile as art, science, and boldness. And for those who had the privilege of ordering one, there is just one mission left: to find the right track… and the right fuel station.
