Petrobras Gas Discovery Boosts Outlook for Development of New Exploration and Production Frontier in Colombia.
On July 29, Petrobras announced in a material fact to the market the discovery of a natural gas accumulation in the exploratory well Uchuva-1, drilled in deep waters off the Colombian coast, 32 kilometers from shore and 76 kilometers from the city of Santa Marta, at a water depth of approximately 830 meters.
The Uchuva-1 well was drilled in the Tayrona Block, with Petrobras as the operator (44.44% stake), in partnership with Ecopetrol, which holds a 55.56% stake.
According to Petrobras, this discovery is a result of the consortium’s efforts to enhance the use of data through the application of new technological solutions in geology and geophysics, combined with expertise in deep-water operations.

Tayrona Block Is Part of Petrobras’ Portfolio Focused on Exploration of Deep and Ultra-Deep Water Assets.
The Tayrona Block is included in Petrobras’ portfolio for active management, and the opening of this new frontier is aligned with the company’s strategic pillar of maximizing its value with a focus on exploration of deep and ultra-deep water assets.
The results achieved increase the outlook for the development of new exploration and production frontiers in Colombia.
The consortium will continue activities in the Tayrona Block, aiming to evaluate the dimensions of the new gas accumulation.

Gasoline Prices Plummet in Brazil and Stand 16.7% Below the Global Average, Excluding New Reductions from Petrobras
The drop in price is around 16.7% compared to the global average. According to data recorded by Global Petrol, the average price of gasoline in the world is about US$1.44, while in Brazil, the price drops to the equivalent of US$1.119.
Abicom reported that the price was similar to import levels, all due to the reduction of prices at Petrobras refineries.
