Wilson Witzel Lists The Construction Of Tepor In Macaé Among The Main Goals Of The Government In The Short Term, The Project Has The Potential To Generate Income And Good Business For Rio de Janeiro
The new governor of Rio de Janeiro, Wilson Witzel, was relentless in announcing that the Port Terminal of Macaé (Tepor) is one of the main goals of the next administration, emphasizing that the first works should occur in about 180 days or by the second half of this year. This announcement was made to the media, alongside his government team and secretaries on Friday (4).
All documentation and analysis of the project’s feasibility guidelines were prepared and submitted to the state administration. Read a passage from the document:
“This document is a commitment of the government that begins around priority initiatives that generate effective results for the people of Rio de Janeiro, strengthening democracy and increasing the effectiveness of public governance in the State of Rio de Janeiro.”

As mentioned earlier, the goal for the beginning of the port’s implementation in Macaé is set for after June, a project that gave rise to the Avança Macaé program, which aims to work on other economic sectors beyond oil.
State’s Interest In The Construction Of The Port In Macaé
The interest of Wilson Witzel, and consequently the state government, in the construction of Tepor in Macaé is justified in a very simple way: Once the project is completed and fully operational, the logistics between Macaé and Rio de Janeiro (which has always existed) for liquids, oil, offshore support base, and onshore industrial and logistical areas will be facilitated, boosting the economy and generating jobs for residents of Rio de Janeiro, as well as having significant national capacity.
Despite the non-governmental organization named Ama Brasil obtaining a favorable opinion to try to halt the construction of the Port in Macaé, this will reportedly be easily overturned (according to internal sources), as one of the main conditions imposed by environmental agencies is that a transport company be built, so that there is no flow or movement of trucks within the municipality. A network of connections will interlink the port, the Oil Highway (RJ-168), BR-101, and the Pipe Park.
