The Non-Governmental Organization, Named Ama Brasil, Manages to Appear Favorable and Has Managed to Suspend the License for the Construction of Tepor, About 10,000 Jobs Are at Risk in Macaé
An organization from São Paulo wants to prevent the construction of the Port Terminal of Macaé (Tepor). The non-governmental organization, named Ama Brasil, filed a lawsuit against the environmental license of the project and has already obtained a favorable outcome in a Public Civil Action (N°5002006-45.2018.4.02.5116/RJ) that suspended the environmental license for the construction of the Port.
The decision may affect the lives of thousands of workers who are eagerly awaiting the construction. That is why the “Movement Macaé Port Now” prepared a petition for the port project in the city to continue. CLICK HERE AND SIGN THE PETITION, Macaé and surrounding municipalities depend on the continuity of this project.
On the last day, November 7, there was a Public Hearing for the deliberation of the enterprise, more than 3,000 people attended the event which ultimately deliberated the construction of the port. Until then, the initial works were expected to start by the 2nd semester of 2018.(See photos and details of the hearing here)

If this civil action is not overturned in a timely manner, the people of Macaé who need job and income generation from this work will suffer more from this delay, precisely at a fragile moment when an economic boost in the city is necessary, a situation arising from the crisis in recent years.
It is worth noting that in addition to Tepor, other major works are following the enterprise, namely: The Transport Corridor that will connect the port to BR 101 and the Thermoelectric Plants that will be built in the CLIMA industrial complex, using gas from Cabiúnas.
More than 10,000 jobs depend on the struggle of the entire population of Macaé and other regions for the project to continue, therefore, we insist that you help sign the petition and share this post, the struggle is not over yet!
