The forecast is that FPSO Guanabara (Mero 1) will start operating in April 2021 and reach peak production in 2022.

The first definitive FPSO in the Mero field should reach peak production in the second year of operation of over 170 barrels/day of oil and 6 million m³/day of natural gas. The unit will have a total processing capacity of 180 barrels/day.

The system is projected to operate until 2048 in the Santos Basin pre-salt field. The system will have a total of 17 wells, nine of which will be producers and eight will be water and gas injectors (WAG).

Petrobras has already asked Ibama for an installation license for the FPSO Guanabara, which should arrive at the location in January 2021 to start anchoring. The Modec unit is being built in China.
