There’s Fresh News in the Hybrid Car Scene: The Renault Grand Koleos Will Be the Brand’s First Hybrid to Launch in Brazil. And What’s Better, It Arrives Ready to Compete Strongly in the Mid-SUV Market. Let’s Check Out All the Details of This New Item?
The Renault Grand Koleos is a project originating from a partnership between Renault and Geely, the owner of Volvo. The medium-large SUV is actually a Xingyue L or Monjaro, a model sold by Geely in China. It has undergone some adaptations to carry the Renault brand, but most of the components are shared with the original Chinese model.
The launch in Asia is scheduled for the second half of this year, and it is expected to arrive in Brazil in the first half of 2025, imported directly from South Korea. The Grand Koleos will always be in full hybrid (HEV) configuration, without external charging, and it brings a powerful hybrid engine with 245 hp that promises to achieve up to 23 km/l.
DNA and Platform of the Renault Grand Koleos

Although it carries the Renault brand, the Grand Koleos does not feature design elements from the French marque. It is based on the CMA platform, the same as the Volvo XC40. Geely, which is also the owner of Volvo, is establishing itself in Brazil through multiple fronts, including Volvo itself, the electric brand Zeekr, Polestar, and now the Renault Grand Koleos.
