With Only US$ 3,000, A Man Bought The “World’s Cheapest Electric Vehicle” In China And Revealed An Experience Beyond His Expectations

Finding an electric car at an affordable price may seem like a distant dream. However, for YouTuber Caleb Nelson, this possibility became real with the acquisition of the ChangLi, known as the world’s cheapest electric vehicle.

Nelson, who is American and lives in the United States, decided to import the car directly from China through Alibaba, for a base price of only US$ 900. However, with shipping fees, customs taxes, and other costs, the final amount came to approximately US$ 3,000. Still, for Nelson, the cost-benefit ratio was surprising.

The ChangLi: An Electric Car for Urban Trips

If you envision the ChangLi as a high-performance competitor against luxury brands, it’s better to adjust your expectations. The small world’s cheapest electric vehicle reaches maximum speeds between 21 and 23 mph (about 34 to 37 km/h) and offers a range of 30 to 40 miles (48 to 64 km).
