Considered one of the most important structural works for the region and, consequently, for all of Mercosur, the bridge connecting Brazil and Paraguay began construction before the COVID-19 pandemic crisis and survived the period – the most severe in recent times from an economic perspective as well. Throughout 2020, it has directly employed 452 people on both banks of the Paraná River, in Brazil and Paraguay.

According to the DER, with the completion of the displacement process of the concrete sections on the Brazilian side, in March, the execution of the second stage of the equilibrium box began, which is 22.70 meters wide and 25 meters long, made of reinforced concrete, serving as a counterweight for the central span of the bridge.
In this phase, the installation of the 18 form tube units, out of a total of 160, which will house the bridge’s stay cables, is being carried out. The execution of the Brazilian mast at support 06 continues at an accelerated pace, potentially reaching a total height of approximately 118 meters by the end of the month.
