Nidec Global Predicts Start of Production of New Compressor Line for August This Year and More Job Openings Need to Be Filled. The Hiring of Professionals Has Already Started!

The expansion works for the production capacity of Nidec Global Appliance’s factory in Joinville/SC, holder of the Embraco brand, are progressing rapidly. The company is installing a new compressor manufacturing line, with investments of R$100 million, with a capacity to produce an additional 2.5 million units per year. While the infrastructure works enter the final stage, a team is working on the installation of the equipment that has already arrived. The forecast is that the new line will start operating in August, and to that end, 75 new professionals have been hired and are already in training. Another 125 job openings will still be filled.

The new line will be dedicated to the manufacture of compressors from the EM family, which serve the residential and light commercial refrigeration markets on virtually all continents, particularly in Brazil and Latin America. The latest generations of the EM family will be produced, which are high-capacity refrigeration products with a wide range of energy efficiency, also sold in Europe and the United States.

Another Nidec Global Appliance factory in Santa Catarina, in Itaiópolis, is also receiving R$10 million in investments for the installation of a new line for manufacturing condensing units and sealed units, in addition to internal components. The production capacity expansion will be 25%, generating around 120 new direct jobs.

Global Production Capacity Expansion

Globally, Nidec Global Appliance’s expansion is supported by investments totaling 70 million dollars across various factories. In addition to Brazil, the company is ramping up and installing new Embraco compressor production lines in Austria, China, and Mexico. The investment package will increase annual production capacity by more than 10 million units, which will add to the current capacity of 45 million per year.
