Company Presented the Best Price in Bid Involving the Ubarana 3 Platform in the Potiguar Basin, and Petrobras’ Bid Now Enters the Negotiation Phase
Oceânica Engineering and Consulting surpassed Belov Engineering and submitted the best offer in Petrobras’ bid for the services of laying an optical cable that will connect the Guamaré Hub and the Ubarana 3 platform, installed in the Ubarana field, in Rio Grande do Norte.
Oceânica is a Brazilian company focused on providing engineering services and technological solutions for companies with underwater activities.
The company’s proposal was R$ 56.780 million and the one from Belov was R$ 98.557 million. Belov may still appeal the decision until May 13, next Monday, before Petrobras begins the negotiation phase with Oceânica.

The Services
The project won by Oceânica Engineering consists of laying a cable that transmits data and electrical energy, approximately 19 km long, between Minhoto Beach and the Ubarana 3 platform (PUB-3).
The company will need to insert the cable into an out-of-use pipeline measuring 12 inches, as well as check and address any interferences with its route, in addition to installing a probe on Minhoto Beach for drilling and performing the installation on land.
The services are expected to last 300 days, according to Petrobras’ contract, which did not receive proposals from strong companies in the market, such as Subsea7, McDermott, Saipem, China Offshore Oil Engineering Corporation (COOEC), and the Brazilian company Triunfo Logística.
The Ubarana 3 Platform is located in the Potiguar Basin, 13 kilometers off the coast of Guamaré, and the Ubarana field is operated by Petrobras, which holds 100% participation in the asset, operating since 1976.
