The Metalworkers’ Union of Angra dos Reis announced this evening, May 8th, that the Brasfels shipyard is starting a selection process for Maintenance Electrician professionals. The positions are for temporary and permanent contracts. The creditors and Sete Brasil were disappointed with the offer being 54% below the previously stipulated amount (US$ 554 million), and the intention now is to also negotiate with the Brasfels and Jurong shipyards, as according to the creditors, the high amounts requested for completing the works were among the reasons for the low bid offered for the purchase of the rigs.
