Ocyan, One of the Leaders in the National FPSO Market, Will Participate in the PSO Brazil Congress 2021 and Showcases Its Participation in Oil Exploration.

Ocyan, one of the leaders in offshore drilling and oil exploration, will participate in the FPSO Brazil Congress 2021. The projects presented by Ocyan at the convention, in its panels, are the FPSO Itajaí and the FPSO Pioneiro de Libra, both built in a joint venture with Altera Infrastructure.

Other News About FPSO and Pre-Salt

Ocyan will have several of its specialists presenting solutions and responses to the market challenges the company has been applying in panels, which will all be virtual.

We will present some information about this event, as well as highlight some of Ocyan’s main collaborations, both for the event and for the industry in general.

The FPSO Brazil Congress 2021 will take place on November 9 and 10, and its congress president will be Ocyan’s CEO, Jorge Mitidieri.

Additionally, Ocyan will also officially open the congress and will moderate some panels, which we will mention later.

This congress occurs amidst concerns from companies related to FPSO regarding the significant national and international challenges, including the reduction of the workforce due to the pandemic and the challenges the market will face with the increasing demand for decarbonization, which could impact this market in various ways.

One of the panels on the subject will be moderated by Monique Silva, Executive Manager of Offshore Production at Ocyan: “Meeting Operational and Maintenance Demand of FPSOs in the Growing Market While Facing a Pandemic” .

In this panel, Monique Silva will show how the management of specialized labor has changed in light of pandemic issues and how this will affect future FPSO projects, along with other significant topics, such as the impact of the pandemic on the supply chain, construction, and maintenance of FPSOs, as well as indispensable upgrades for the vessels involved in operations.

This discussion will also feature Rafael Thome, Administrative Director of Maersk Supply Service, and Jonas Lobo, Institutional Relations of Operations at SBM Offshore.

What Experts Say About the Future of Oil Exploration in Brazil

Despite the global pressure regarding decarbonization, there is considerable demand for FPSO projects in Brazil, especially now that the focus has shifted to the pre-salt and the exploration of Deep Water Oil Fields.

Mitidieri highlights, “The FPSO industry in Brazil remains busy – and there is no better time than now for Brazil’s FPSO leaders to come together and explore how to meet the growing demand for FPSO projects in Brazil, as well as continue to meet operational and maintenance expectations for existing projects.”

As we can see, for various reasons, the market is optimistic about FPSO projects, pre-salt exploration, and related areas, which can be extremely positive for the entire oil sector in Brazil, which has great chances of becoming even more important and differentiated in the market, with the latest news regarding Petrobras.
