OEC Projects in Brazil and Panama Win Global ENR Award for Safety Performance and Installed Power Generation Capacity.
The initiatives undertaken by OEC on national territory and in Panama have been honored with a prestigious international recognition. The South Gas Terminal, located in the beautiful Babitonga Bay in Santa Catarina, and another important extension project on Line 2 of the Metro located in Panama City, received special mention in the merit award. This honor was granted at the Global Best Projects competition, organized by one of the most respected publications in the engineering segment.
OEC, formerly known as Odebrecht Engenharia e Construção, continues to establish itself as one of the market leaders, reinforcing the reputation built through impactful global projects. Both projects mentioned illustrate the Brazilian construction company’s commitment to excellence and innovation, competitively positioning itself on the international stage. Certainly, such recognition from ENR is a direct result of the dedication and expertise of the team, enhancing the visibility of the exceptional execution capability characteristic of OEC.

Awarding and Evaluation Event
The awarding event will take place on December 19 and will be held online, with a broadcast from the United States. A select group of judges convened by the prestigious ENR magazine, made up of experts from institutions such as KPMG, Jacobs, Columbia University, and United Engineering Foundation, carefully examined the safety performance, the innovative processes, and the teamwork of 120 projects around the world. This was the largest number of entries the magazine has received so far. Of those, 35 projects from 19 different countries were chosen as the most impressive, standing out for their impact and quality of execution.
Recognition in Brazil and Energy Impact
Marco Aurélio Barros, Contracts Director at Tenenge, a company belonging to OEC responsible for the construction of TGS, expressed his satisfaction with the recognition. For him, this award highlights the completion of a challenging project, which promises to generate many benefits for the client and the population of southern Brazil, increasing the installed power generation capacity through the LNG that will be delivered and transported by TGS. He states that the team demonstrated extreme competence in completing this project, which involved complex activities on land and at sea, and is now fully operational, efficiently meeting the operator’s needs.
Innovation and Excellence in Panama
