After acquiring the Alagoas Polo of the state-owned Petrobras, Origem Energia is now continuing to invest in the expansion of natural gas production in the region and expects to reap the benefits as early as 2022, as it projects a revenue of R$ 1 billion.
Origem Energia announced last Friday, (08/07), its growth projections for 2022 and stated that it expects to raise a total revenue of R$ 1 billion. This number will be driven by the significant growth in natural gas production at the Alagoas Polo, which was accomplished by the company during July 2021, and has been ensuring excellent numbers for the company.
Origem Energia’s Revenue for 2022 is Expected to Be Around R$ 1 Billion, with Major Influences from the Exploration of the Alagoas Polo
Origem Energia is experiencing growth in the Brazilian market, investing heavily in fuel businesses, and has great plans for 2022, as it forecasts a revenue of R$ 1 billion by the end of the year. The main asset that will bring these numbers to the company is the Alagoas Polo, which was acquired in July of last year after a negotiation with Petrobras.
This region has proven to be highly lucrative for fuel production, and the polo maintains a good growth curve in exploration currently. This is happening because, since it was acquired by Origem Energia, production at Alagoas Polo has reached the mark of 1 million cubic meters per day in natural gas exploration. Additionally, the company plans to triple the current production at Alagoas Polo, mainly in natural gas, over the next few months.

The focus on natural gas production will also extend to other businesses beyond exploration at Alagoas Polo, as Origem Energia intends to invest a total of US$ 300 million in gas storage projects, from small scale to the interiorization of natural gas in the country.
Thus, the company’s CEO, Luiz Felipe Coutinho, highlighted the current focus and main mission of the company in Brazil: “We do not see ourselves as an oil company, but as an energy integration company with safety, innovation, and efficiency. We were born with the concept of being, through our assets, a facilitator of competitive energy in Brazil.”
Origem Energia Continues Expanding Its Presence in the National Market and Aims to Leverage Alagoas Polo to Boost the Fuel Market
Origem Energia is completing a year since the change in its brand mission this July, and the revenue projections of R$ 1 billion for 2022 show the positive results of this decision. Previously known as Petro+, the company has been able to grow significantly, and while in August 2021 it had 70 employees, today it generates nearly a thousand jobs, consisting of around 700 employees and 300 service providers.
The company currently operates in 16 businesses in the states of Bahia, Espírito Santo, Rio Grande do Norte, and Alagoas and aims to make these numbers even larger. To this end, the company expanded its business portfolio last year in the 3rd Permanent Offering of ANP, acquiring 14 exploratory blocks in the Sergipe-Alagoas basin. Thus, Origem Energia intends to continue growing in the Brazilian fuel market, as natural gas and oil production are gaining strong visibility in the country.
To this end, the company will focus its investments on the application of US$ 300 million in natural gas storage projects and intends to use the revenue of R$ 1 billion in 2022 to boost the Brazilian fuel market.
