Used Transfers Accelerated at the Beginning of the Year and Reshuffled the Monthly Ranking, with a Tight Race Between Popular Models and Consolidated Leadership in Light Commercials, According to Numbers Released by Fenauto and Reported by Specialized Vehicles.
The Brazilian used and semi-new car market recorded 1,363,383 transfers in February 2026, a number 1.7% higher than recorded in January, despite the month having fewer working days due to Carnival.
In the accumulated total for the first two months, there were 2,703,716 property exchanges, an increase of 16.1% compared to the same period in 2025, according to the monthly report released by Fenauto.
The data was reported by industry vehicles, such as the portal Autoesporte.

On the list of vehicles with the most transfer registrations in February, the Volkswagen Gol took first place, with 56,077.

Following it, Hyundai HB20 and Chevrolet Onix were nearly tied, with 35,507 and 35,485, respectively, according to Fenauto.
Used Car Ranking: Gol Leads and HB20 and Onix Are Nearly Equal
In addition to the trio that topped the table, the group of the top five included the Fiat Palio, with 29,684 transfers, and the Fiat Uno, with 28,858.
In the following ranking, Fenauto pointed out Ford Ka (21,724) and Toyota Corolla (21,655), numbers that kept the sedan among the ten most transferred models of the month.
Shortly after, came Ford Fiesta, with 20,344, Volkswagen Polo, with 18,864, and Chevrolet Celta, with 18,770, completing the list of the top ten, according to the survey.
Results from this type of ranking are often influenced by the size of the fleet in circulation and the volume of transactions in the resale market.
Nonetheless, Fenauto’s monthly data helps to map which models concentrate the most transfers in the country at any given time.
Used Light Commercials: Strada Opens Advantage and Leads in February

In the segment of used light commercials, Fenauto registered 31,516 transfers of the Fiat Strada in February.
With this total, the pickup was the leader of the month in the category.
The second place went to the Volkswagen Saveiro, with 18,838, and the Toyota Hilux appeared next, with 14,948.
Next, the segment ranking brought Chevrolet S10 (14,488) and Fiat Toro (13,568).
The list of the top ten also included Ford Ranger (8,081), Chevrolet Montana (7,290), Fiat Fiorino (6,169), Mitsubishi L200 (4,765), and Volkswagen Amarok (4,345), according to the numbers released by the entity.
Market Projection in 2026: Fenauto Cites Elections and World Cup
Although the performance of the first two months surpassed the same period of the previous year, Fenauto reported, in the statement regarding February, that it had not yet finalized a consolidated projection for the total transfers in 2026.
In the text, the federation president, Everton Fernandes, attributed the possibility of fluctuations to the year’s calendar and factors that could affect consumer behavior.
“Although FENAUTO has not yet defined at this moment a closed projection for growth in 2026, and considering that we will have factors that traditionally affect the market’s pace, such as elections and the World Cup — which tend to create moments of caution on the part of consumers — we believe it will be a good year for the sector,” he stated.
Fenauto also relates the market’s performance to the professionalization of the sector, mentioning initiatives such as training programs, certification of origin, and support for regional associations.
In the statement, the entity highlights these actions as elements associated with consumer confidence at the time of buying and selling.
Vehicle Age: A Segment Mentioned in Reports and Absence of a Chart in the Statement
Part of the coverage on the used market often highlights the age of the transferred vehicles, with breakdowns by time of use, such as “semi-new” and older vehicles.
This type of data is used to discuss the profile of the traded stock and the renewal of the fleet in the second-hand market.
However, in the public material consulted from Fenauto regarding the February 2026 results, the focus was on the total transfers, the accumulated total for the two months, the percentage comparison with previous periods, and the most sought-after models in some categories.
The statement did not bring, in the same document, a complete chart with the distribution of transfers by vehicle age groups.
For this reason, the detailed numbers of this specific segment, although they appear in some publications claiming to be based on Fenauto, were not reproduced here as confirmed data directly from the monthly statement of February.
When this type of information is cited outside the main document, verification usually requires access to the complete report or a specific official table released by the entity.
Still, the snapshot of the month shows a market with a high volume of transfers even during a period with a reduced calendar.
With Gol in overall leadership and Strada at the top among light commercials, the data reinforces which models concentrated the most negotiations in the used market in Brazil in February 2026.
