The participation of ANP included directors, technicians, and researchers who discussed topics such as carbon capture and storage, sustainable decommissioning, and pre-salt exploration.
For those seeking to understand how the agency contributes to energy and environmental development in Brazil, the fair was a snapshot of the integration between science, politics, and market.
Offshore Technology and Energy Transition at the Center of the Discussions
Offshore technology refers to systems, equipment, and processes used in activities conducted at sea, such as oil and gas exploration and wind energy generation.
At OTC Brazil 2025, this concept was debated from the perspective of energy transition, highlighting how innovation is making operations safer, more efficient, and sustainable.
The ANP Director General, Artur Watt Neto, participated in the opening ceremony, while Director Pietro Mendes contributed to the panel “Managing Above Ground Risks in Offshore Oil & Gas Through the Energy Transition.”
During the three days of the congress, superintendents and technicians from ANP presented studies on carbon capture and storage (CCS) and strategies for research, development and innovation (R&D), strengthening the vision for the maritime energy sector.
Emissions Panel and Sustainable Decommissioning in Highlight
During OTC Brazil 2025, ANP launched a new version of the Dynamic Greenhouse Gas Emissions Panel, now expanded to include data from the exploration phase of oil and natural gas contracts, in addition to the production stage.
The enhancement of the panel reinforces the commitment to environmental transparency and information management on emissions.
At the agency’s booth located at the fair, a daily program brought together experts to discuss topics such as sustainable decommissioning of offshore facilities and geoeconomic assessment of pre-salt areas.
The lectures also covered updates from the ANP Human Resources Training Program (PRH-ANP) and the Permanent Offering model, currently the main auction mechanism for exploratory blocks in the country. Interested parties can check the presentations made available by ANP.
Technical Training and Entrepreneurship at OTC Brazil 2025
The agency’s activities also extended to the iUp Innovation Connection space, with actions aimed at technological entrepreneurship and professional training for the energy sector.
The activities integrated the PRH-ANP Program and the NAVE – ANP Entrepreneurship Program, which encourage the development of talents and startups focused on energy and sustainability.
Thus, OTC Brazil 2025 served as a showcase for new ideas and innovative projects that unite academia, government, and industry.
