São Bernardo do Campo, October 30, 2023 – Otis announces today the start of registrations for the Route School, its technical internship program aimed at training professionals for elevator and escalator maintenance.
There are over 50 open positions in the cities of Aracaju, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Campo Grande, Curitiba, Florianópolis, Fortaleza, Goiânia, Itajaí, João Pessoa, Londrina, Manaus, Natal, Niterói, Porto Alegre, Recife, Ribeirão Preto, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Santos, São Luis, São Paulo, Teresina, and Vitória. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and enrolled in technical and technological courses in electrical, electronic, electrotechnical, electroelectronic, mechatronics, automation, and mechanics. Registrations are open until December 15 on the Super Estágios website. It is necessary to register on the site if the applicant has not done so yet.
“Technical professionals represent more than half of our workforce and are essential to our success in keeping people moving throughout Brazil,” says Cristiane Fiorezzi, Director of Human Resources at Otis for Latin America. “The Route School program represents the importance of developing our colleagues as a fundamental pillar at Otis. We offer top-notch training so that our colleagues shine in the work they do.”

The program includes eight months of training for interns, offering over 1,200 hours of theoretical and practical training, conducted under the guidance of experienced technicians, so that they learn about the functioning of elevators and escalators while developing behavioral skills for customer service. Interns undergo quarterly evaluations to become eligible for potential employment as Otis technicians at the end of the program.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are part of Otis’s culture. “A large part of the female professionals we have in the field come to Otis through the Route School. Our goal is for them to represent half of the program participants. We have seen the number of interested female candidates grow year after year, and last year’s edition saw a record number of female registrations,” says Fiorezzi.
Adriane Silva, Service Supervisor at Otis’s Goiânia branch, is an example of a professional who began her career through the Route School. Silva joined the company through the 2018 edition of the program and, after completing it, became the first female technician to be hired in her branch. “I have always been very well received, and I had the support of all my colleagues, which made a difference in my career. One of the things that makes me happiest is seeing how Otis cares about providing development opportunities and giving more space to women. I participated in the Employee Scholarship Program and was also mentored, which allowed me to discover what I really wanted for my future. And the result came faster than I imagined: I was the first woman in our branch to be promoted to the position of Service Supervisor,” says Silva.
