Reconstruções artísticas paleoambientais dos estados dos ecossistemas na Europa Central ao longo dos últimos 23 milhões de anos. As ilustrações retratam paisagens típicas e grandes herbívoros importantes em seis períodos: o Neogeno (origens evolutivas de muitos táxons atuais), o Pleistoceno (linha de base pré- Homo sapiens ) e o Holoceno (ecossistemas moldados pela ação humana). Na maioria dos períodos, as paisagens são mostradas como mosaicos ricos em árvores e flores, mantidos por uma abundância de grandes herbívoros.
