Opening of the Event Yesterday Featured the President of the TCU and the Lieutenant Governor; Panels Today Gather Experts, Leaders of Entities, and Authorities in the Sector
The bottlenecks of multimodal transport in the Northeast region, exportation, and the competitiveness level of Brazilian products abroad, the economic and strategic potential of the region, and the need for investments will be some of the topics to be discussed this Tuesday (27) at Nordeste Export, taking place in the auditorium of the Administrative Center of the Port of Suape, on the southern coast of Pernambuco. The meeting gathers authorities, entrepreneurs, and leaders from the port logistics sector in the country and takes place in a hybrid format, with part of the speakers and panelists in Suape and others participating remotely via Zoom. The opening ceremony occurred on the night of this Monday (26), bringing together various authorities, including Minister José Mucio Monteiro Filho, president of the TCU (Tribunal de Contas da União); the Lieutenant Governor of Pernambuco, Luciana Santos; Carlos Melles, president of Sebrae (Serviço Brasileiro de Apoio às Micro e Pequenas Empresas); and Marcelo Sampaio, executive secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure.

The event is part of the Brazil Export forum and, prior to the official opening, held discussions and technical visits throughout this Monday (26), led by the CEO of Brazil Export, Fabrício Julião, the president of the Northeast Export Council, Aluísio Sobreira, and the president of the Port of Suape, Leonardo Cerquinho, following safety regulations regarding Covid-19.

Early in the morning, Angelino Caputo, president of Brazil Hack Export (a marathon of hackathons promoted by the forum), announced DL Portos as the winner of the technological challenge aimed at popularizing cabotage as a solution for cargo movement for small and medium producers. The Director of Promotion and Innovation of AD Diper (Agência de Desenvolvimento Econômico de Pernambuco), Jaime Alheiros, participated in the Hack Export panel with the lecture “Objective Innovation for Improvement of Competitiveness in the Port Logistics Sector.”
“This meeting will fill a gap, highlighting the potentials of the Northeast. The region has much to achieve; it was here that the Brazilian economy began. The Northeast Export Forum event will fulfill the role of being a messenger for the Northeast, not just for Pernambuco, but for the entire region,” said Aluísio Sobreira, president of the Northeast Export Forum Council.
Panel Schedule
The panels of North Export will start at 9 AM. Each of these panels will feature presentations and moderation by councilors connected to the Brazil Export Forum. The exhibitors include sponsoring entities, trade associations, and public authorities to discuss the proposed topics. Among the invited to debate the themes are ANTF (Associação Nacional dos Transportadores Ferroviários), Antaq (Agência Nacional de Transportes Aquaviários), ABAC (Associação Brasileira de Armadores de Cabotagem), Fenop (Federação Nacional das Operações Portuárias), BNDES (Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social), and Sudene (Superintendência do Desenvolvimento do Nordeste).
“I am very happy that Suape is the host port for this important debate for the port logistics chain, which brings discussions such as port reform, fundamental to provide the sector with the dynamism it needs. I am sure we will achieve great results,” highlighted the president of the Port of Suape, Leonardo Cerquinho.
