A Coronavirus Patient Screening Center has been created at the Dr. Jorge Caldas Health Center in Macaé, designated as a unique measure to address the disease.

So far, 13 suspected cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded, with ten patients awaiting results and three ruled out.

With the decree made by the mayor of Macaé, such as the suspension of classes in public and private schools, about 100,000 people no longer need to transit through the streets.

To complete, the mayor requested that people postpone events, avoid crowds, gyms, and other places with more than 100 people, as often, a carrier of the coronavirus may not present symptoms but can still transmit the disease.

For The Control And Combat Of The Coronavirus, Hygiene Habits Must Be Reinforced, Check Below How To Prevent Contamination.

First and foremost, the best way to prevent is to wash hands frequently, use 70% alcohol gel, and not share utensils, says Daniela Bastos, manager of the Epidemiological Surveillance Division.

According to the executive, the use of masks is only for people who show symptoms of the disease. Avoid kissing, hugging, maintaining a distance of one meter, using tissue paper when coughing, covering the mouth and nose, and, when sneezing, using the forearm.

Daniela explains that the capacity for contagion is very high. For every person with the disease, three are infected with the virus, but the mortality rate is higher among people aged 60 to 80, with cardiovascular problems, cancer, hypertension, and others.

“For the hotel industry, we advise wrapping bed linens without contact with the staff. It should be washed at 60 degrees Celsius, and cleaning should be damp, with a wet cloth, avoiding vacuum cleaners; surfaces should be cleaned with sodium hypochlorite or 70% alcohol”, Daniela stated.

Those who want more information can contact the Epidemiological Surveillance Division at the numbers 2763-6332 and 2763-6330, extension 2010.
