Anthropic Closes Historic Deal With Microsoft and Nvidia to Acquire Computing, Receive Investments, and Expand Its AI Technology.

One of the largest recent movements in the technology sector involves Nvidia, Microsoft, and Anthropic, who announced a joint deal on Tuesday (11/18) valued at US$ 45 billion.

What is at stake is the global expansion of artificial intelligence, with three of the most influential companies in the sector participating, and the goal is to accelerate the development of advanced models, starting immediately with a direct focus on computing capacity.

The partnership will primarily be built on Microsoft Azure infrastructure and the power of Nvidia chips, while the startup Anthropic solidifies its position among the leading names in AI.

The agreement provides for Anthropic to acquire US$ 30 billion in computing via Azure to train and expand the Claude model.

In addition, Nvidia will invest US$ 10 billion in the startup, while Microsoft will contribute an additional US$ 5 billion.

The strategy aims to meet the growing demand for faster, cheaper, and more accessible models.

Billion-Dollar Investments Expand Anthropic’s Market Space

The partnership places Anthropic at a new level in the global technology landscape. In addition to the financial contributions, the startup has signed the purchase of 1 gigawatt of computing power from Nvidia’s Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin systems — equipment designed to accelerate large-scale AI tasks.

During the announcement, Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, emphasized the collaborative nature of the agreement:
“We will increasingly be customers of each other”, he said alongside Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, and Jensen Huang, head of Nvidia.

This integration reinforces a trend in the industry: tech giants becoming, at the same time, strategic suppliers and customers among themselves, consolidating interdependent technological ecosystems.

Nvidia: Technology to Elevate Claude to the Next Level

According to Jensen Huang, Nvidia’s entry as an investor and technical partner will be decisive in expanding the Claude model:

“This partnership among the three of us will be able to take AI — take Claude — to every company, every industry around the world.”

Nvidia’s support will enable Anthropic to train more robust models with a lower cost per token — the unit that represents parts of words used by AI systems.

This should accelerate corporate adoption and enable more competitive solutions.

Huang summarized the moment by stating that the partnership is “a dream that has come true for us”, highlighting to the executives: “Now your business is on a rocket”, anticipating “a speed increase of an order of magnitude.”

Microsoft Expands Access to Claude in Its Ecosystem

For Microsoft, the agreement further strengthens its position as a leader in cloud computing and artificial intelligence.

In addition to providing infrastructure to Anthropic, the company will release advanced Claude models for users of Copilot and clients of Azure AI Foundry.

Nadella highlighted that the new pact adds to the participation of about US$ 135 billion that Microsoft already has in OpenAI, expanding the variety of models offered to corporate clients.

This strategy reinforces the company’s plan: to combine different suppliers of AI technology to create a more complete and competitive portfolio — something essential in a rapidly growing market.

Anthropic Aims for Global Expansion With Support From Tech Giants

For Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, the partnership is not just financial, but strategic.

He stated that Microsoft’s focus on enterprise solutions directly complements the Claude model, widely used in corporate tools. Thus, the startup gains momentum to scale its technologies globally.

The agreement also allows Anthropic to advance more aggressively in research and development, as access to computing infrastructure is currently one of the largest costs — and obstacles — for AI startups.

Impact on the Technology Market and the Future of AI

With Nvidia, Microsoft, and Anthropic aligned, the technology sector observes one of the strongest alliances ever recorded in the field of artificial intelligence.

The massive purchase of computing, combined with billion-dollar investments, is expected to influence everything from competition for more efficient models to the pace of innovation in corporate services.

Moreover, the partnership signals a clear movement: AI startups tend to strengthen alongside large companies, while giants like Nvidia and Microsoft consolidate their ecosystems.
