Antaq Requests New Public Competition with Hundreds of Positions for High School and Higher Education Candidates. The Exam Should Be Held This Year.

A new request for authorization for a competition from the National Agency for Waterway Transportation (Antaq) has been submitted to the Ministry of Management and Innovation of Public Services. In total, the request is for filling 128 positions, with 68 of them for positions requiring high school or technical education and 60 for positions requiring higher education. Therefore, a new public competition from Antaq may take place still in 2023.

Positions Required for the New Antaq Competition

If the request submitted by the agency is approved, the distribution of positions for high school will be for the following roles:

Administrative Technician (25 Positions)

Responsible for assisting in the development of files and documents, issuing and checking data, programming payments, requesting materials, financial control, collections, supporting Human Resources professionals, and answering the phone.

Technical Regulation of Waterway Transport Services (43 Positions)

Responsible for carrying out intermediate-level activities focused on supporting specialized activities of inspection, regulation, supervision, and control of the provision of public waterway and port transport services, including infrastructure, as well as implementing policies and conducting studies and research related to these activities.

For higher education, the request is for the following positions:

Specialist in Regulation of Waterway Transport Services (47 Positions)

Responsible for performing higher-level activities focused on specialized activities of regulation, control of provision, and supervision of public waterway and port transport services, including infrastructure, as well as in the establishment of policies and conducting studies and research related to these activities.

Administrative Analyst (13 Positions)

Responsible for performing higher-level activities of high responsibility and complexity, focusing on the execution of administrative and logistics activities.

Learn About the Last Antaq Public Competition

It is important to mention that the new request is larger than the last one submitted in 2020, which required 109 opportunities for the same positions. The last Antaq competition took place in 2014, with 143 positions for high school, technical, and higher education.

The organizing committee at that time was Cespe/UnB, which is now called Cebraspe. The public competition offered positions for:

  • Regulation Technician – 55 positions;
  • Accountancy Analyst – 3 positions;
  • Infrastructure – 2 positions;
  • Any field of study – 44 positions;
  • Administrative Technician – 19 positions;
  • Specialist in Economic-Financial Area – 8 positions;
  • Systems and Business – 3 positions.

Those who were approved for the positions carry out their activities in the following cities:

  • São Luís (MA);
  • Brasília (DF);
  • Florianópolis (SC);
  • Paranaguá (PR);
  • Belém (PA);
  • São Paulo (SP);
  • Porto Velho (RO);
  • Recife (PE);
  • Vitória (ES);
  • Salvador (BA);
  • Manaus (AM);
  • Fortaleza (CE);
  • Porto Alegre (RS).

Tests from the Previous Antaq Public Competition

In the objective test of the Antaq competition for positions in high school, technical, and higher education, participants were evaluated with 120 questions, with one correct answer and one wrong answer, using the correction factor usually applied by Cebraspe, where one incorrect answer cancels out one correct answer.

Candidates had 4 hours and 30 minutes to complete the test, which was divided into 50 questions of basic knowledge and 70 questions of specific knowledge.

To be classified, candidates must score at least 10 points in basic knowledge and 21 points in specific knowledge. Simply adding these scores was not sufficient; the candidate had to achieve a minimum of 36 points in total.

The written test of the Antaq competition, which was eliminatory and classificatory, was worth 30 points and was required for all positions. The theme was related to subjects outlined in the specific objectives for each position.
