With Strategic Investment, K1 Group’s New Factory Promises to Generate Jobs and Boost Development in Agudos do Sul, Attracting Attention to the Region’s Potential.
The municipality of Agudos do Sul, located in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba, in Paraná, has been chosen to host a new industrial unit of the K1 Marketing & Investment group. The factory is expected to be installed in Agudos do Sul in the second half of 2025 and, according to estimates, could generate 65 direct jobs and up to 200 indirect jobs, totaling 265 new job opportunities in the region.
With just over 10,000 inhabitants, Agudos do Sul stands out as one of the smallest cities in Greater Curitiba. The arrival of the new industry represents a significant expansion of the local production sector and may help to stimulate the region’s economy, particularly in areas such as logistics, commerce, and services.
Paraná Negócios Platform Helped in Choosing Agudos do Sul
The decision to install the K1 group factory in Paraná was made possible through the Paraná Negócios platform, an initiative of the State Government aimed at connecting companies to municipalities with adequate infrastructure and local incentives.

The tool is the result of a partnership between Celepar, the City Match startup, the Secretary of Innovation and Artificial Intelligence (SEIA), and Invest Paraná. Since its creation in 2023, the platform has functioned as a database that cross-references information about logistics, workforce, tax incentives, and other strategic aspects of cities in the state.
Through this technology, companies like the K1 group can identify municipalities that offer the best conditions for expansion projects. The choice of Agudos do Sul took into account factors such as road access, availability of electricity, municipal incentives, and compatibility of workforce profile.
New Factory Is Expected to Produce Luggage and Travel Items
The new factory in Agudos do Sul will focus on the production of luggage and travel items, an area where the K1 group already operates with brands distributed in the national market. The company has not yet released a detailed schedule for construction or the start of operations, but the initial forecast is that hiring will begin in the second half of 2025.
The positions generated in Agudos do Sul will cover various functions, from operational to administrative positions. The generation of indirect jobs is also associated with the supply chain and the provision of logistical and industrial services in the region.
Training and Data Updates Are Differentiators of the Platform
In addition to providing technical support to companies, the Paraná Negócios platform also works on training municipal managers, encouraging each city to keep its infrastructure information and investment attraction potential up to date.
According to Jean Sales, a representative of Celepar, the platform enables municipalities to position themselves more strategically before investors. “The idea of the platform is to facilitate the connection between cities and companies. The technology transforms data into smart decisions that drive growth sustainably,” Sales emphasized.
This logic was applied in the installation of the K1 group’s factory in Agudos do Sul, where the availability of updated data allowed the city to compete competitively with other regions of the state.
Industrial Investments in Greater Curitiba Are on the Rise
The arrival of new companies in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba reflects a trend of decentralization of investments, focusing on smaller cities that offer attractive logistical conditions and incentives. The case of Agudos do Sul exemplifies this, showing how artificial intelligence initiatives applied to public management can drive industrial investments in Greater Curitiba.
The Government of Paraná reported that over 40 cities are already using the Paraná Negócios platform as a tool for attracting companies. The project is part of the state innovation plan, which seeks to improve the business environment through the digital transformation of public administration.
Agudos do Sul Bets on Job Creation as a Development Tool
The arrival of the K1 group’s factory is seen by the Agudos do Sul city hall as a concrete opportunity for socioeconomic development. The municipality has been investing in improvements to urban infrastructure, such as paving, electricity, and sanitation, precisely to attract new companies and increase job offerings.
With the new unit in operation, the expectation is that sectors such as food, transportation, and local commerce will also benefit. The increase in tax revenue resulting from industrial activity could also contribute to the expansion of public services.
The use of data technology to bring companies and municipalities closer together is a growing trend in Brazil, and the Paraná experience with the Paraná Negócios platform is already being studied by other states.
The installation of the K1 group factory in Agudos do Sul is a concrete case of how digital tools can accelerate investment attraction processes, making the environment more transparent, efficient, and competitive.
According to Invest Paraná, another 15 companies are currently under analysis within the platform, with the possibility of new announcements for installation in small and medium-sized municipalities in the coming months.
