The Digital Inclusion Social Program Announced by Petrobras Will Cover Approximately 50 Schools with Donations of Over a Thousand Computers and Training in Information Technology for Students and Teachers
Petrobras announced in a relevant fact that registrations are open until October 10 for the digital inclusion social program “Windows to the Future” in the state of Espírito Santo. The forecast is for more than a thousand refurbished computers to be donated to approximately 50 public schools located near the company’s operations in 13 cities. With this initiative, Petrobras generates positive impacts for society and contributes to the development of the communities where it operates.

The training for elementary school teachers will aim to enhance the use of digital technology in pedagogical practice, while for high school students, the goal will be to prepare them for the job market. Recode, a civil society organization that uses technology as a mechanism for inclusion and digital empowerment of vulnerable communities, will be responsible for the training.

Public schools located in the municipalities of Anchieta, Itapemirim, Linhares, Marataízes, Presidente Kennedy, Serra, Vila Velha, Vitória, Aracruz, Conceição da Barra, Guarapari, Piúma, and São Mateus can participate in the selection.

Besides Espírito Santo, “Windows to the Future” also covers schools in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. In total, more than nine thousand computers will be donated, and the company plans to invest R$ 2.3 million to train 2.2 thousand students and 2 thousand teachers in 44 municipalities across the three states, expanding digital access for around 50 thousand students in elementary and high school in the three states. The announcement of the selected schools will be on October 25, and the expectation is that the computers will be delivered starting in December. Each selected school will receive up to 40 refurbished computers that will be used for training in information technology, starting in March 2022.
