Metasa Signals Petrobras with a Solution That Could Save Six Months in the Refabrication of the Modules of P71 That Sank off the Coast of Santa Catarina

While Petrobras seeks solutions for the Power Generation Modules of P71 That Sank While Being Transported to the Jurong Shipyard in Espírito Santo, some companies are offering to collaborate.
One of them is Metasa, which informed the oil company that it has the “Pancakes”, structures that serve as flooring at the levels of the modules where the equipment is installed.

According to Metasa, the structures would have been leftover from other projects it developed for Petrobras and that since they are almost ready (they would need minor adjustments), they could save about 6 months in the refabrication timeline of the modules.

Therefore, if Petrobras needs to refabricate these structures, the equipment could start being assembled immediately in the modules, which would expedite their completion.

Metasa has units in the cities of Charqueadas and Marau, in Rio Grande do Sul, and specializes in Engineering Solutions in Metal Structures.

The company has been operating since 2005 in the Oil and Gas markets, when it supplied metal structures for the construction of the Power Generation Module of the PRA-1 Oil Platform (2005/2006).
Shortly after, Metasa participated in the construction of Petrobras platforms: P-53 (2007/2008), P-56 (2007/2008), P-55 (2009), P-57 (2009), P-58 (2011), and P-62 (2011).

While providing solutions for Petrobras regarding P71, Metasa is also dedicated to other Oil and Gas projects.
“We have already secured important contracts such as UPGN of COMPERJ with KM and the modules of [FPSO] MV31 – which are being constructed by EBR. In addition to these contracts, we recently completed an important supply for Andrade Gutierrez for the Axion Refinery in Argentina,” explained executive Mara Mognon from Metasa’s commercial department.
