Specifications of the Petrobras bidding process on the FPSO that will be installed in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin
In an interview, Rittershaussen stated that a bidding process was initiated for the Built Operate and Transfer (BOT) model, whereby the charterer operates the platform for some time and subsequently transfers it to Petrobras. The process is aimed at an FPSO-type unit.
João Henrique says that the FPSO BOT for the deep water project in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin is already on the road and that the companies are already working on the process. According to him, Petrobras should already receive a proposal next year.
The BOT model is new for Petrobras, although the company had anticipated in February this year that it intended to work with this option for the deep waters of the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin. In the interview, Rittershaussen also pointed out that Petrobras has been working hard to reduce the time to deploy platforms, as well as to reduce construction time and increase the efficiency of the units.
Hiring of rigs
The director of Petrobras stated that the company currently has 22 rigs in operation, and that the portfolio should revolve around 20 to 25 rigs between 2021 and 2025, as planned by the company. Rittershaussen stressed that several rig contracts expire in 2023, but that the company has carried out new bids.
João Henrique says that there is some probability that the rigs that are already in Brazil will win this tender, as they are already in operation, have no mobilization cost and do not need to make large investments to continue operating with Petrobras. of Petrobras is in the pre-salt layer, which receives 70% of Petrobras' investment and has shown "excellent productivity", noting that the company has no prospect of drilling new wells in shallow water.
