The investment package announced by Petrobras includes actions distributed until 2029, focusing on vulnerable communities and environmental preservation. The resources will be allocated as follows:

Itaboraí as a Strategic Center for Socio-Environmental Actions

The municipality of Itaboraí was chosen as a transformation hub due to the presence of the Boaventura Energy Complex, one of the largest natural gas processing centers in Brazil. The complex receives pre-salt gas from the Santos Basin and is in the final phase of implementing two gas thermoelectric plants, as well as refining units for fuel and lubricant production.

With more than 600 professionals directly involved in operations, the complex will have the capacity to produce:

  • 12,000 barrels per day (bpd) of Group II lubricating oils
  • 75,000 bpd of S-10 diesel
  • 20,000 bpd of aviation kerosene (QAV-1)

The plant will operate in synergy with the Duque de Caxias Refinery (Reduc), strengthening the energy chain of the state of Rio de Janeiro and amplifying the positive impact of socio-environmental actions in the region.

Petrobras formalized partnerships with four social projects that directly impact the community, all selected through a public call and aligned with the action axes of the Petrobras Socio-Environmental Program:
