The device will be used in the company's strategic projects. Among the initiatives are the EXP100 and PROD1000 programs, which aim to leverage the exploration and production business of the Brazilian state-owned company. In addition, the machine increases the performance of geophysical data and reduces geological and operational risks.

“With the evolution of the geophysical data processing capacity, we reduce the risk in E&P projects and we can better scale the projects, which brings great savings, and even better position the wells, increasing the exploratory success rate”, said Fernando Borges , Director of Exploration and Production at Petrobras.

According to Nicolás Simone, director of Digital Transformation and Innovation, Dragão continues the strategy of guaranteeing “more economy, agility, security and resilience” to the state-owned company's operations. The executive also points out that nine supercomputers were put into operation in about two years.

“We expect to reach the end of 2021 with around 40 petaflops of capacity, not counting cloud use,” he concluded.
