Petrobras Resumed Production at Four Facilities in the Bahia Terra Hub, After Being Forced to Halt Production in December 2022. The Company Claims to Continue Working to Meet the Conditions Established by ANP.

The Petrobras resumed production at four facilities in the Bahia Terra Hub, in Bahia, after receiving authorization from the National Petroleum Agency (ANP). The company was forced to halt production in the cluster in December 2022 after an agency audit found a series of safety and environmental violations. The four reactivated units account for approximately 70% of the total production of the Bahia Terra Hub. The oil company reinforces its commitment to the environment in the hub’s campaign.

After ANP Authorization, Petrobras Resumes Production at Bahia Terra Hub Facilities

Petrobras announced that it has resumed production at four more facilities in the Bahia Terra Hub. The company had been forced to halt production in the cluster in December 2022, after an ANP audit found a series of safety and environmental violations.

The four facilities that have been reactivated are the Taquipe Water Treatment and Injection Station, the Fazenda Boa Esperança “A” Station, the Massapê Collection Station, and the Fazenda Azevedo Collection Post.

These facilities account for approximately 70% of the total production of the Bahia Terra Hub, according to the oil company’s data.

Petrobras claims that it continues to work to meet the conditions established by ANP and ensure the safe and sustainable operation of the Bahia Terra Cluster.

The company states it will continue to communicate with the market in a timely manner as it moves forward with its remediation efforts regarding the issues identified by ANP.

Resumption of Production in Bahia Terra Hub Marks Important Step for Petrobras in the Sector

The resumption of production in the Bahia Terra Hub is a positive development for Petrobras and the Brazilian oil and gas industry.

The location is a large producer of oil and gas, and its production is highly significant in meeting Brazil’s energy needs.

The resumption of production will also help boost the Brazilian economy, which is currently facing a series of challenges.

The ANP audit regarding the Bahia Terra Hub is a reminder of the importance of safety and environmental commitment in the oil and gas industry.

Petrobras has been taking steps to address the identified violations and is committed to operating safely and sustainably.

The Hub is one of the assets being sold by Petrobras. The future of the business, however, remains uncertain. At the moment, the asset is being negotiated with the consortium formed by PetroReconcavo and Eneva.

Petrobras President Jean Paul Prates has stated that the sale process has not yet been signed, and he added that he does not know the future of the asset.

Petrobras has been selling assets in recent years as part of an effort to raise cash and focus on its core business. Now, selling the Bahia Terra Hub would be a significant blow to Petrobras, as it is a valuable asset.

About the Bahia Terra Hub

The Bahia Terra is a cluster of 38 onshore oil and gas fields located in the Recôncavo Basin in the state of Bahia, Brazil. The cluster is operated by Petrobras, the largest oil and gas company in Brazil.

Now, with ANP’s authorization to resume production at the Bahia Terra Hub facilities, Petrobras is able to restart its investments in the region’s campaign.
