The Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP) has opened registrations for free professional qualification courses at the São José dos Campos Campus, in partnership with Petrobras and the Support Foundation for IFSul (FaifSul).
According to the announcement, selected participants receive monthly stipends of R$ 660 during the class period, as a form of support to remain in the course.
For women with children up to 12 years old, the assistance amount rises to R$ 858 per month, provided they meet the required attendance criteria.
Registrations remain open until January 21, 2026, and the entire selection process occurs without tests.
The selection of candidates is done by public draw, as stated in the Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program announcement.
The initiative aims at the rapid training of people in vulnerable situations, with the objective of facilitating access to the industrial labor market.
At the São José dos Campos Campus, there are 70 slots available in in-person courses offered in the evening.
The classes also include activities on Saturdays, increasing the practical workload of the training.
Stipend Paid by Petrobras During the Course
The announcement establishes a monthly payment of R$ 660 for each selected student throughout the entire course, conditioned on compliance with the rules.
For mothers with children up to 12 years old, the monthly assistance can reach R$ 858, upon submission of proof at the time of enrollment.
The maintenance of the stipend is directly linked to attendance, a criterion considered central to the program.
To receive the full amount, the student must meet a minimum of 75% monthly attendance throughout the duration.
When attendance is between 60% and 74%, the announcement provides for the payment of 50% of the assistance, according to the situations outlined.
Below 60% attendance, there is no transfer of the benefit for the corresponding month.
Free Courses Offered by IFSP in São José dos Campos
The slots are distributed among three in-person courses offered in the evening, with classes during the week and on Saturdays.
The training lasts between four and five months, with schedules ranging from 174 to 252 hours.
The General Services Assistant course offers 30 slots and requires completed Elementary School I, lasting 4 months.
The Industrial Thermal Insulator course has 20 slots, requires completed High School, and lasts 5 months.
For Industrial Painter, there are also 20 slots available, requiring completed Elementary School II and lasting 5 months.
Who Can Enroll in the Courses with Stipend at the Federal Institute
The public call is aimed at individuals aged 18 and older residing in São José dos Campos.
The municipality is part of the coverage area of the Henrique Lage Refinery (Revap), as defined in the announcement.
The program prioritizes candidates in socioeconomic vulnerability, a condition that must be proven at the time of enrollment.
Individuals without formal employment ties or with per capita family income of up to half a minimum wage can compete.
There is also a provision for reserving and prioritizing slots for affirmative actions outlined in the announcement.
Among the groups included are blacks and browns, women, Indigenous and quilombola people, people with disabilities, trans people, and refugees or immigrants with residence authorization.
Selection by Public Draw and Official Calendar
Differently from traditional entrance exams, the selection process does not include written tests or analysis of academic performance.
The selection of candidates occurs solely by electronic public draw, according to the official schedule.
According to the announcement, the draw is scheduled for January 29, 2026, with live transmission on the FaifSul channel.
The calendar provides for the publication of the final result and the call for enrollment in early February.
The start of classes is scheduled for March, according to the campus’s planning.
How to Enroll in Free Courses at IFSP with Stipend
Enrollment is free and must be done online through the Autonomy and Income Portal, within the official period. The enrollment period is from 01/07/2026 to 01/21/2026, until 11:59 PM, Brasília time.
Those without internet access can seek in-person assistance at IFSP Campus São José dos Campos.
The campus is located at Rodovia Presidente Dutra, km 145, Jardim Diamante, with access via the P4 gate of Petrobras. In-person support will be offered on January 19, 20, and 21, from 6 PM to 8 PM.
Até compreendo está ação, entretanto porque não se tem algo assim EAD, ao menos 10 vagas dando oportunidade a outras regiões/estados de participar, infelizmente outros estados (atualmente estamos morando na Bahia), ainda não acordaram pra está possibilidade louvável, os cursos técnicos de empresas de alto valor são importantíssimo no critério suporte, Eu ficaria muito satisfeito se minha filha tivesse está oportunidade!
