The company responsible for the activity, Spectrum Geo, has already requested a license from Ibama to operate in blocks ES-M-592 and ES-M-667, in the Espírito Santo basin

Seismic studies are a good thermometer to measure the degree of offshore activities in the Oil and Gas market. When we see seismic studies being commissioned, we always hope that the chain reaction will work and that they will turn into prospecting, production and generate wealth and jobs.

The studies commissioned this time were from two renowned international oil companies in the market, the Chinese CNOOC, which operates the ES-M-592 block, and the Spanish Repsol, operator of the ES-M-667 field, both in the Espírito Santo basin.
The two oil companies rely on the 3D survey to assess the minimum exploratory program in the fields and will cover an area of 14,37 km², which already includes the maneuvering space and the acquisition area (6,6 km²).

Spectrum Geo will use the Hai Yang Shi You 721 vessel in the study and operations are expected to begin in December and end in July 2020.

Seismic data will be collected with reference to the city of Aracruz, in Espírito Santo, at a minimum distance of 50 km from the coast and in a minimum water depth of 1,3 meters.

The Port of Vitória will be the support base for the campaign and the expectation is that every five or six weeks, in addition to the embarkation and disembarkation of crew members, the embarkation of equipment, parts and supplies, the supply of fuel oil and the disembarkation waste.

Blocks ES-M-592 and ES-M-667 belong entirely to CNOOC and Repsol, respectively, and were acquired in the 14th ANP concession round.
