Oil auction has Petronas as the highlight

Thanks to the purchase of a stake in the Petrobras field, Petronas is now the 5th largest oil and gas producer in the country

Considering the operated production and as consortium, the Petronas is now the fifth largest producer of oil and natural gas in Brazil. The amount produced by the company was 55,29 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day, in December 2019, according to the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). Thanks to the purchase of Petrobras, Tartaruga Verde and Espadarte's stake in the Campos Basin, Petronas was able to stand out among many other companies. At the end of 2019, the ANP approved the assignment of 50% of Petrobras' rights over the assets to the Malaysian company.

Also, according to the ANP's ranking of the 20 companies with the highest consortium production in December 2019, Petronas appears after Petrobras (ranking leader with 2,9 boed), Shell, Petrogal and Repsol. In fifth place, the company achieves the result of 55.290 boed.

Equinor (51,3 thousand boed), Eneva (45,5), Shell (40,77) and Total (34,6) are following the list. Other recognized companies are also on the list, such as: Enauta, Petro Rio, CNODC, Potiguar and others.

The bulletin released by the ANP for the month of December also showed that the State of Rio de Janeiro increased its share in the country's total production.
