A Peugeot has Announced Its New Electric Car, Titled Peugeot e-3008, the Model Delivers Over 700 km of Range and Features a Modern Design. The Manufacturer’s Promise Is to Have a Fully Electric Fleet by 2030.

Peugeot decided to bring forward its official presentation and released the first images of the Peugeot e-3008. The electric car represents the arrival of the third generation of the Peugeot 3008, while the second generation will remain on sale for a few more years with combustion or hybrid engines.

Check the Details Behind the Design of the New Electric Peugeot

The preview released by the French brand allows us to observe the directions taken by the design. The Peugeot E-2024 wouldn’t need a grille; however, it emulates the piece with squares that create a 3D effect. Right above, there is a black strip that connects the headlights and brings the electric car’s name to the center.

It’s important to mention that the headlights are full LED type, and their light signature integrates with three vertical LED bars below the piece. This time, the version with the more common body will be the E-5008, which has not been overlooked, but this silhouette classified as a fastback SUV has a more arched roof that ends in a spoiler molded into the tailgate.

It somewhat resembles the Haval H6 GT due to the taillights, which invade the lid, interconnected by a black strip; however, the plate on the bumper gives the electric Peugeot a lighter appearance. The creases in the shape of an inverted “V” help create an impression of width for the electric car.

Peugeot had already impressed everyone with images of its new dashboard concept debuting with the E-3008. It features the latest i-Cockpit proposal, which places a 21-inch screen at the top of the dashboard, which can also be used as an instrument cluster and multimedia center. The steering wheel also maintains a smaller diameter.

New Electric Peugeot Will Debut the STLA Medium Platform

Still regarding the interior, just below the dashboard are the discreet air conditioning vents and a narrow color display with icons fully customizable by the driver, called i-Toggles. The physical buttons on the suspended console are in the shape of a “Y”; however, they serve air conditioning functions. Below is the wireless charging base for smartphones.

The previous generation already used fabric in the dashboard covering; however, this vehicle explored this solution even further, covering a large part of the dashboard, doors, and armrest. The gear selector is a knob to the right of the steering wheel.

The Peugeot E-3008 is essential for the entire Stellantis demand to debut the new STLA Medium platform, which they claim is an evolution of the EMP2 developed by PSA but designed for a future of electrified cars. The same platform will be used by the next generation of the Jeep Compass, for example.

New Electric Car from Peugeot Exceeds 700 km of Range

The STLA Medium is primarily defined by its size, being used in hybrid and electric cars with a wheelbase between 2.7 and 2.9 m and a total length between 4.3 and 4.9 m. Its electric architecture is designed in 400V; however, it will have the capacity to accept recharges of up to 285 kW.

In the case of the electric Peugeot, it is known that three electric configurations will be available, with power ranging from 217 to 387 horsepower and front or all-wheel drive. One of them will exceed 700 km of range. However, complete details will be disclosed only next week.

It’s worth remembering that the goal of Peugeot is to have a completely electrified offering by 2025. The French company will have a battery electric car available in all segments in which it operates. This information was released by the brand during the launch of the E-2008 in Brazil, last November. By 2030, all models from the brand will be purely electric.
