The real world presents hills, high-speed highways, varying loads, and different climates—factors that can significantly impact a electric car’s range. The Detroit brand has just announced new details about the upcoming version of the model, including an estimated range by General Motors of 440 miles (708 km). How Much Will the New Electric Chevrolet Silverado Pickup Cost?
All this range requires a ridiculously large battery, which drives the price of the electric Chevrolet Silverado pickup into luxury territory. The brand announced last Wednesday that the top-of-the-line pickup will cost US$ 96,495, including shipping. Deliveries are scheduled to start soon, later this year. It is worth mentioning that the brand already sells a more basic Silverado EV, but only for fleets.
And sometimes, even having an unbeatable range of 460 miles at your disposal is not enough to reach the charger. The Silverado EV that the Youtuber was driving ran out of charge in a parking lot about 100 meters from a charging station.
However, it is important to highlight that various initiatives are being developed to improve vehicle range and Nio’s semi-solid state batteries are already a reality. After successfully undergoing several fine-tuning tests, it has now entered mass production. These components can offer a range of up to 1,000 km per charge.
