Brazilians interested in Tesla’s electric pickup Cybertruck will no longer need to leave the country to purchase it. The pickup is being sold through Osten Group, a store specializing in luxury models. In the store, the model is priced at R$ 950,000, with the price potentially varying depending on the dollar’s rise.

As a form of celebration regarding the first sale of the Cybertruck to a Brazilian customer, the company also launched its sales and rental services for Tesla’s car. If opting for the four-year plan with a franchise of 1,000 km per month, the driver will have to pay a fee of R$ 19,800 per month. It is worth noting that this amount includes documentation services, preventive maintenance, insurance, traffic fine and incident management, telemetry, vehicle reservation assistance, and 24-hour support throughout Brazil.

However, it is worth remembering that Tesla’s Cybertruck being sold in Brazil has not yet been officially launched by Elon Musk’s automaker. Since it was announced, Tesla has stated that the timeline for the vehicle to reach the market will be by the end of 2021, but with the scarcity of raw materials, such as semiconductors due to the impact of the covid-19 pandemic, the timeline has a possible chance of change.
Tesla’s Electric Pickup Can Reach A Top Speed Of 210 Km/h
In any case, Brazilians purchasing the Tesla pickup will have a model with excellent performance in hand. The Cybertruck can reach 96 km/h in under 3 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 210 km/h. Even with large motors and all-wheel drive, the pickup’s range will exceed 800 km, with towing and load capacities of 6.3 and 1.5 tons, respectively.
Of the three versions planned for the market, the company offers Brazilians only the top-of-the-line version, which has three motors and high performance. The power has not yet been disclosed by Tesla; however, the industry estimates it to be around 800 hp.
What stands out most about the electric pickup is its design, which is noteworthy, featuring a unique style around the body that protects occupants with stainless steel, cold-rolled, and armored glass. In addition to safety, the materials prevent dents and long-term corrosion.
Tesla Partners With Samsung
Last month, Tesla, founded by billionaire Elon Musk, signed a contract with Samsung Electro-Mechanics worth US$ 436 million. According to the agreement, Samsung will supply camera modules for the vehicle, which will play an important role in the technologies that the new pickup will bring to the market.
The Cybertruck will feature side and rearview cameras, plus eight rear and front cameras to enable autonomous driving.
