The Military Police of the State of São Paulo (PM-SP) announced on the 4th of this month the opening of a new public competition aimed at filling 2,7 thousand positions for the role of Second Class PM Soldier. The initial basic salary for the position is R$ 3.875,27, considering that the components are: standard in the amount of R$ 1.544,80, Special Police Work Regime (RETP), in the amount of R$ 1.544,80 and health hazard of R$ 785,67.

To register for the PM-SP Competition, the candidate must have completed high school; minimum age of 17 years and maximum of 30 years; be up to date with electoral obligations; minimum height, barefoot and exposed of: 155 cm, if female, and 160 cm if male; be qualified to drive a motor vehicle between categories B and E; be up to date with military obligations, in the case of male candidates; among other requirements specified in the notice.

Knowledge Exams, which will be divided into Objective Test, Essay Test, Health Exams, Aptitude Exams, Psychological Exams, Document Analysis, and Evaluation of Social Conduct, Reputation, and Integrity.
The objective test will consist of 60 multiple choice questions, with 5 alternatives each, with only one correct alternative. According to the PM-SP Competition notice, the program content is:
- Portuguese Language and Text Interpretation;
- Basic Computer Knowledge;
- General Knowledge;
- Mathematics and Basics of Public Administration.

Registration for the PM-SP competition must be done only online, at the website of the organizing committee VUNESP, starting at 10 AM on November 4 until December 20, 2022.
At this stage, it is necessary to make the payment of the fee in the amount of R$ 57,00. Candidates who cumulatively meet the following requirements will be entitled to a 50% reduction in the registration fee for the public competition:
Be a regularly enrolled student in high school, higher education at the undergraduate level, postgraduate or pre-college course and receive a monthly salary lower than two minimum wages or be unemployed.
To request the reduction, it is necessary to access the VUNESP website, between 10 AM on November 4 and November 9, 2022, and fill out the application. Still at the time of registration, it is up to the candidate to choose to take the knowledge tests I and II in one of the following cities: Piracicaba, Araçatuba, Bauru, Campinas, Presidente Prudente, Santos, São José dos Campos, São José do Rio Preto, São Paulo, Ribeirão Preto, and Sorocaba.
According to the notice, the objective test and the essay test will be applied simultaneously, lasting 5 hours, probably in February 2023. This public competition will be valid for three months, counted from the date of approval, and may, depending on the Administration, be extended for an equal period.

The main benefit offered in the PM SP Competition is job stability, considering that a military police officer can only be dismissed from their position in the case of an administrative process proving a violation incompatible with the profession.
The work schedule for soldiers is 40 hours a week for those who work in administrative activities. For those who work in operational activities on a 12-hour shift for 36 hours off, other shift regimes may be established according to the peculiarities of the position and the location of operation.
