This combination, along with the six-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, propels the sedan from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 194 km/h. The average premium, according to Quatro Rodas, was R$ 3,452, while the competitor Cobalt had a cost of R$ 1,909. Conversely, the same report pointed out that the Virtus had the cheapest parts basket among its direct rivals: R$ 3,286. This value was significantly lower than the R$ 5,135 for the Chevrolet Cobalt’s parts basket, indicating a more affordable long-term parts replacement cost.

Despite its project qualities, the 2018 Virtus accumulated a history of complaints that require heightened attention from buyers. The Mobiauto portal, specialized in collecting owner reports, was crucial in identifying the most common chronic problems of the model, the main one being related to the automatic transmission.

The most frequent complaint is jerking and stuttering in the six-speed automatic transmission, especially during low-speed shifts, such as from first to second gear. Additionally, Mobiauto lists other recurring complaints: the emergence of internal noises, attributed to excessive use of hard plastic in the finish; reports of water leaks in the cabin and headlights; and noises in the braking system, even in cars with low mileage.

Verdict: Is It Worth Buying the 2018 Virtus?

The 2018 Volkswagen Virtus Comfortline 200 TSI is undoubtedly one of the most complete and advanced compact sedans of its generation. Tenho um 2018 e ele apresenta solavancos rangidos na hora do freio, e entrou muita água nele tive que calafetar ele todinho na concessionária por 2 mil reais … deu certo!! De resto é um bom carro

Só tem um problema em comprar o Virtus ou carro da VW exemplo não tem peça de troca! Estou a 70 dias esperando um parachoque traseiro do meu Virtus Exclusive 2025! Eu acho uma vergonha da marcar em vender carros mas não ter peças para substituir! Depois querem falar das marcas chinesas! Ja tive 3 vw e estou extremamente desgostoso com a Marcar!
