The thermoelectric plant installed in the Port of Suape is already expected to start operating in mid-November 2021 and investments reach R$ 3,1 billion
The Port of Suape will receive the installation of a thermoelectric plant based on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), which will generate approximately two thousand jobs between the construction and operation phases, in addition to giving even more visibility to the south coast of Pernambuco, where the Complex. The entire execution and operation of this project will have around BRL 3 billion for investment.

Currently, the New Fortress Energy has been operating in countries such as Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Nicaragua, more specifically in the fields of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) transport, infrastructure, regasification terminals, power plants and other small-scale solutions.
In addition to the thermoelectric plant that will be built in the Suape Complex, the company is already working on construction in Ireland, as well as a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal that will only supply industrial customers in the region.
Thermoelectric powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) has an estimated generation capacity of 1,3 GW
According to the government of Pernambuco and the companies that are in possession of the project, the plant will have an estimated generation capacity of 1,3 GW, 30% more than the hydroelectric plant located in Sobradinho. At the end of the implementation of the aforementioned project in the Port of Suape, there will be a large energy auction, which will be promoted by the National Electric Energy Agency and the Ministry of Mines and Energy, already scheduled to take place in the first half of 2021.
At least 30% of the investment will come from the entrepreneur and 70% will come from development banks. The work will occupy approximately 16,5 hectares within the Port of Suape, which has already secured a prior license issued by the Environment Agency of Pernambuco (CPRH).
