Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Thermoelectric Plant Has an Estimated Generation Capacity of 1.3 GW
According to the Pernambuco government and the companies involved in the project, the plant will have an estimated generation capacity of 1.3 GW, which is 30% more than the hydroelectric plant located in Sobradinho. At the end of the implementation of the project at the Port of Suape, there will be a large energy auction promoted by the National Electric Energy Agency and the Ministry of Mines and Energy, already scheduled to take place in the first half of 2021.
At least 30% of the investment will come from the entrepreneur, and 70% will come from development banks. The construction will occupy about 16.5 hectares within the Port of Suape, which has already secured a preliminary license issued by the Pernambuco Environmental Agency (CPRH).
