This is because the report from the National Agency for Waterway Transportation (Antaq) for the first 4 months of the year proved that the complex remains a leader in coastal operations and the transport of liquid bulk in the country.

Over the past few years, the Port Of Suape has managed to become one of the largest in the entire national territory and has secured leadership in various port operations, which continues to happen in 2022. Antaq released its report with the results for the first four months of this year, and the state of Pernambuco can celebrate once again, as the complex remains a leader in liquid bulk transport operations and coastal activities.
Thus, according to the report from Antaq for the first four months of 2022, the Port Of Suape moved 5.09 million tons by coastal transport, meaning transport between ports within the country, achieving a growth of 4.24% compared to the same period in 2021.

Among these numbers, the standout in operations goes to liquid bulk and gases, which totaled 3.54 million tons, in addition to containers, with 1.48 million tons.

In addition to the high growth in cargo movement by coastal transport in Brazil, the transport of liquid bulk at the Port Of Suape also achieved significant expansion in 2022. The data from Antaq confirm that the complex moved more than 5.29 million tons from January to April of this year, with the Port Of Santos in second place, with 4.56 million, and in third, Itaqui (MA), with 2.34 million tons.
On a national scale, the country’s total ensured a movement of 98.14 million tons of liquid bulk. Thus, the Director of Port Management of Suape, Paulo Coimbra, emphasized: “Despite not having the Abreu e Lima Refinery operating at full capacity yet, we have managed to maintain a good volume of operations that have ensured this leadership. We are working, however, to ensure that this expansion occurs and that we can gain more prominence in this type of movement.”
Now, the port authority of the Port Of Suape will continue to focus on operational and infrastructure improvements to ensure even more satisfactory results over the coming months of 2022 regarding the transport of liquid bulk and coastal operations in the country.
