The Port of Açu and 120 Japanese Entrepreneurs Participated Yesterday in a Meeting at the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry
The Port of Açu, representatives from the State of Rio de Janeiro, and about 120 Japanese entrepreneurs participated today in a meeting at the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RJ). On the occasion, José Magela, president of Prumo Logística, presented the investment opportunities available at the Port of Açu and emphasized the benefits of having the only Export Processing Zone (ZPE) under development in the Southeast Region: “The Port of Açu offers excellent advantages for the installation of companies.
In addition to being strategically located near the country’s main oil fields, Açu is already in operation and has space for the immediate installation of industries. The development of the Açu ZPE generates various business opportunities for the international market.” Export Processing Zones are free trade areas with foreign countries, aimed at the installation of companies focused on export production. Created in 2017 by a decree signed by President Michel Temer and covering an area of 2 km², the ZPE is expected to start operating in 2019.
