The Port of Açu is once again in focus. Prumo Logística, which is responsible for the development and operation of the hub, signed and released to the media a contract with the company TRX, to develop and implement an industrial logistics condominium within the port area of Açu, in São João da Barra. Right off the bat, the amount that will be injected into this project is around $30 million and will create more than 500 direct opportunities as the works begin.

The main objective of this logistics complex that will be built will be to supply the suppliers and subcontractors of the oil sector, as well as companies that work with logistics operations and machinery in the industry.

José Guilherme, who is the commercial manager of the Port of Açu, stated that the logistics condominium will be the starting point to meet the needs of companies located in the industrial hub of the area, with a special focus on companies in the oil and gas sector, due to a latent increase in offshore operations that will drive activities there. Guilherme also said that the advantage of building this complex is the possibility of renting a ready-to-use area, which will exempt companies from making expensive investments at the beginning of operations.

The commercial manager of TRX said that this venture offers unique opportunities for investors and potential clients. Since the design of these warehouses and yards will be constructed modularly, allowing for shared services, it will be very advantageous from an economic standpoint for clients who will set up there.

The area of the complex will measure 208,321 square meters and will be 3 minutes from the port terminals. It will also feature a high-quality, wide road for transporting equipment of various sizes. In a statement, Prumo Logística said that the logistics condominium will start its full operations in January 2018, but the works will begin in 2017.
